Overkill, maybe. But this IS the Empire and that thing ain't just for show.
Can it really fire off axis like that? If not the Ha'tak's attacked the side after jumping out of hyper drive. 8)

Signs point to yes.

The second one's kinda ludicrous, admittedly, but hey.
Also these are (unofficial) game mechanics, but as we've never actually seen a Soveriegn do anything but loom, we don't really have anything that contradicts it, do we?
According to wikipedia, "the Mohorovičić discontinuity is the boundary between the Earth's crust and the mantle."
According to Starbound, it's a problem solvable with enough combat drugs to turn you into the Incredible Hulk.

Is it a fan mod or a Lucas film(or is it arts?) game?

It's a fan-mod based, in part, on the Technical Commentaries.
I was asking in the previous question if we've ever seen a Sovereign in action elsewhere.
I suppose that this question could be answered if we've ever seen the Eclipse fire off axis (I haven't read anything it's in), as the two have pretty much the same gun.

If any one had seen turbo laser coming towards the viewer, or a rear view of a death glider I would be very pleased. This is a work in progress.

No. the only place where we've ever seen a Sovereign-class ship is as a silhouette in the Dark Empire Sourcebook. Other than that, a Sovereign has never been seen anywhere.

Fair enough. How about an off-axis firing Ecplise?

Well we've seen multipal instances of SW beams firing off axis, even on the original death star. Now if an Eclipse/Sovriegn class whose superlaser is the smaller shipkiller grade, wouldn't be able to hit ANYTHING with that weapon if it couldn't fire it off axis.

AFAIK, we've never seen an Eclipse-class so much as fire its superlaser at all.

Hey shouldn't we add the big Stargate capital ships into the mix as well such as Aphophis super Ha'tak and Anubis Supership?

Well, then we get a race between the S.S. Anubis and the Sovereign.
Though, I reckon the Sovie might take it even if it doesn't fire first.

Spanky: I'm not a big debater, so lemme get this right:
We've never seen a Soverign or Eclipse fire the Main gun.
We've seen smaller beam weapons and the DSII superlaser fire off-axis.
So, we might expect the Sovie's main gun to fire off-axis, although probably not at the stupid angles you get in Warlords.
With a barrel like this, it does look like it is set up for off-axis on the sides, if not vertically, but, that's jsut pure speculation, I suppose.

Glimmer: This is the best real TL shot I have, try playing around with that. it's hard to get a shot of them coming towards you without the firing ship being in frame, oddly enough.

Besides a possible size difference, its is basicly okay, except for one very very important aspect, quality of the picture to the SD and most importantly of coure is...

 LIGHTING

The lighting for the SD is coming from the right, but the lighting for the F-302 is coming from the left.

Looks okay besides that, sorta.

The main problem is that the ISD is too sharp compared to the x302 cockpit, you can tell it's not from the same image. Either the ISD needs to be blurred or a better source image needs to be used for the cockpit.

^ Yes well the source fo the cokcpit picture was my good old USB video capture board or WINTV and yes the resolution as a result is not the same as one taken from a DVD. :(
So if anybody can produce the cokcpit image from a DVD they own I would much apreciate it. :)
Thank you

Imperial, unless its a pre-Empire ISD. If so, yes.

Thanks for clearing that up! :D
Anyway here's the X-302 image modified according to the suggestions regarding opacity and lighting.

I hope is much improved now...

The ISD is still a bit sharp, I think.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

Did you see the version of the picture Spyder posted? Flip the Stardestroyer on the Y Axis so that the lighting matches up. It looks better that way.

Edit- Also, as Surlethe says, it's still quite sharp. In fact, it's less blurry than the old one, which stands out even more.
