The X-Box, Hi-Def, and getting the fucker working right
Ok, I know that the X-Box is Hi-Def capable. I specificaly remember hearing how Halo 2 was made to run basic Hi-Def to increase graphics. So how the hell do you get the X-Box to run Hi-Def on a nice Hi-Def widescreen TV? Assume I have an X-Box straight from the box, what do I have to do to get the thing setup for Hi-Def content?

You need an HD cable pack, which goes for about $20 and can be had at any large retailer that sells X-Box accessories. Make sure your TV has component input, because that's the type of connector it uses.

Thats it? I plug it in with those cables? Do I have any options to select on the X-Box itself? I seem to remember hearing the option to select quality, like specific resolutions.

When you hook up the cables, you boot the console without a disc in the drive, and then under video options there will be new things you can select. Assuming your TV supports 1080i, you'll want to select that (unless you're one of those people who claims 720p is better than 1080i). Then you start up your game, and it will automatically be in the highest resolution that game supports, up to the maximum you specified. It's all very simple.

So when the X-Box is connected with the right cables, it detects this and provides Hi-Def options. Ok, thats good to hear.
