His source for hydrogeology is a SCUBA DIVING MANUAL?
You must be kidding me. Even if that figure is right for the region in which it applies, it is probably wrong when you extrapolate it that far.
Anyway, last time I checked, pressure would vary linearly with depth, based on the cumulative weight supported.

Basically, No Limits Fallacy, coupled to Appeal to Inappropriate Authority.

You see, that's why I post on here about such things. I don't have the science background necessary to argue such things. Of course, I DO have a 'higher' form of common sense than some people.
