Not at all, Klingon. Go ahead and plant all the meaningless Klingon banners you wish. It will make no difference when my warbirds arrive.Dalton wrote:You dishonorable toad! You dare accuse me of such disingenuity? I should kill you where you stand!
The Klingon Empire claims all space where its fleet of warships goes! If you have a problem with that, feel free to take it up with my bat'leth!
...anyway, in all seriousness, #2 is the closest to the truth. I'm just trying to play true to form In the interests of not being a complete prick I'll adjust the map to highlight merely colonized systems, if you so desire, you cowardly petaQ.

Well we Ferengi do have four brains, but it only takes one to know what I mean... Stardate 2400.1 will have a different map than Stardate 2402.0. The only problem is people submit maps rather erratically... it would be so much easier if I could figure a way to just pull the map, but the game master password doesn't let me do that for some reason.Dalton wrote:Different versions? What do you mean, Ferengi worm?

Keep it simple, then. Update every five or ten turns or so.

You are the one who shall be left alone and without allies this time, Klingon. Unless you find someone else to go crawling to like mewling kittens, just as you went crawling to the humans after Khitomer.

Money-lenders of our repute don't take kindly to bounced cheques or defaults... we always have some strongmen around. Plus if things go as planned, the Ferengi will have a powerful new ally soon, one who will wipe your smirk off your face .Dalton wrote:*snort* What do I have to fear from craven money-lenders?

Oh by the way, to make RP more fun, if you want to you can RP Q dropping in a visit. Or many visits. Many annoying ones if you want. Q's annoying as hell circa Encounter at Farpoint. Oh yeah, and you can't kill him, trap him, torture him. He's Q. Besides if you could outsmart him, the game would be over and we don't want that.
He has different motivations for each race, but he's not going to reveal the consequences of losing the game or the reason for the game. At least not now .

Oh man. Are there limited visibility ranges in this mod? I swear, I keep getting fistfulls of Borg Spheres appearing out of nowhere.
I'm just glad I'm able to hold them back so far. Damned Drones kept teleporting onto my ships because I didn't have Shield tech researched. It's pretty clear who has the experience playing this mod.
Oh, and the filthy bastard mined his planet...

Borg ships are quite fast. And stealthy...GuppyShark wrote:Oh man. Are there limited visibility ranges in this mod? I swear, I keep getting fistfulls of Borg Spheres appearing out of nowhere.

And well. You're lucky your ships have little worth assimilating. Withdraw from my system and I will refrain from crushing you, 'individual'!
And the correct phraise was 'Filthy bastard mined her planet'.
*wink*
It's not visibility, it's stealth.
Stealth is present in SE:IV stock too. What's different is that this mod seems to make them a lot, a lot easier to get. To counter stealth, you need some form of sensors.
The fastest way to get sensors is to get military science 2, then research advanced military science up to level 6. You then get this component,
this is good enough to scan through stealth armor. What I do is make a satellite in every system as soon as I get this component, and dump it. I also keep one on one of my auxillary ships in my fleet.
In stock SE:IV, it only goes up to level 5 and that's it I think, or level 3? Doesn't matter, in stock SE:IV, hyper optics are good enough sensors for anything. A level 5 can scan a level 1 - 4 stealth.
If you haven't gotten advanced military science yet... get it. In stock it is one of the most crucial things to research because you need fleet training and ship training to make your ships effective. At 100k and 150k a piece, then at 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 (I think), you should already have hyper-optics dropped on all of your planets. Advanced military science level one, two and three gives you the fleet training, the other three levels give you the sensors.
Shields and advanced military science should have been one of the first things you researched. In addition to minesweeping II at least. This is one of those PBW things, not just a Star Trek mod thing.
Once someone researches real cloaking devices though, the only way to stop them is to research physics 2, and then scanners up to level 8 to get tachyon detection grids. Each better level of sensor negates a better level of cloak, so it's like an arms race. Real cloaking devices can't be seen by telescopes.
The Klingons have the best cloak in the game (next to monsters),

Why the hell do the Klingons have better cloaking than me?

Don't kill the messenger. Here's yours, one level lower than the maximum Klingon cloak.Trogdor wrote:Why the hell do the Klingons have better cloaking than me?
Who knows. Somebody probably watched TNG "Redemption" and thought the Klingons had better cloak.
And when you mention "stealthy" Nepthys, do you mean you're using an actual cloaking device? I looked and looked and couldn't find a Borg cloaking device on maxed out technology. What's the name of the component you're using to "stealth" yourself? Or are you just hiding in nebulas?
Brian
But...but Romulans are the ones who the cloak masters. That's what they do. Just one more reason to conquer the Klingons, how dare they have a better cloak than I do.
