We all know how this normally goes. Stormbringer creates the thread, and claims the Andermani. Dahak manages to retroactively claim Haven fifteen minutes before the thread appears. I curse the name of the person who grabbed Manticore while I was away from the computer for however long I had to be away to miss the thread.
My thought is this: Center the STGOD on the anticipated self-destruction of the Solarian League, with each player gettiong a break-away faction. This lets the power level be artificially balanced to start with, and saves on people giving up because their favorite power got picked, as nobody gets their favorite power.

The downside of that is that there's so little background on League factions...basically you have Vague Commercial Interests, Mesa, and Rozsak's little budding insurrection. That makes roughly three canon factions, maybe a couple more if you broke down the first into individual, completely unknown factions. Then, with Mesa involved, you have to factor in Torch's private war, and how they'd react to the sundering of the League power-bloc. It's a neat idea...I just wish there was more information available on the League power structure.

I...resent that. Somewhatconsequences wrote:Dahak manages to retroactively claim Haven fifteen minutes before the thread appears.
What White Haven said. We sadly don't know enough about the SL to get anything reasonable starting. Though we know that military-wise, the SLN blows donkey balls. My thought is this: Center the STGOD on the anticipated self-destruction of the Solarian League, with each player gettiong a break-away faction. Its actually a plus if you want to do some nation-crafting like we do in the non-Honorverse games.
