Anybody seen 'Star Woids'

Post by Kurgan »

You know, that documentary that was released the first of this month about (among other things) the fans who camped out 42 days to see Episode I. ;)

I haven't seen it, but I watched the trailer... and I was thinking to myself. If a lot of people did this, this would really go a long way in explaining the sheer RAGE that people had over TPM. I mean, can you imagine camping out almost a month and a half for a movie and then it SUCKS?

Yeeoouch.

Then again, I'd probably blame myself for being so stupid and brainwashed by hype!

Or I might desperately try to justify all that time wasted by pretending I liked it... well I hope I wouldn't, but I could see it being a natural enough reaction.

Oh well. Anyone see it? Comments? I know a lot of cheap discs have been made to capitalize off fandom, so is this one worth it?

Note: I haven't seen Trekkies either. Generally I've missed out on this whole sub-genre...
fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1
Someone asked me yesterday if Dracula met Saruman and there was a fight, who would win. I just looked at this man. What an idiotic thing to say. I mean really, it was half-witted. - Christopher Lee

Serves them right for wasting their time for a fucking movie. I saw the massive lines that were around our local theater when Episode I first came out. I said "fuck this shit" and promptly went across town to go see The Mummy and I was not let down.
Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.

Yet what he creates tends to be total shit. Example: Ode to Spot.
Purely subjective. Believe it or not, there are people who like that poem.
There are people who like to eat shit too. Those people are idiots.- Darth Servo and Bounty.

And a lot of people hated it. Your point? ;) I wasn't generalizing about every single human who had ever seen it, only the many vocal ones who disliked it or were disappointed.

Move along...

Looks like there's some reviews out. Here's one.
