I am breastfeeding my little girl right now, and I will say that you can manage with one but it is very difficult. I have heard stories of women sucessfully BFing with only one, but I definitely need two. Anna regularly empties both (esp her feeding in the morning and the one before bed.) When she is going through growth spirts she will use both every feeding of the day. In addition, if you get mastisis (sp I think) or thresh, you will need to feed on the other side while pumping the infected side or hand expelling (or else risk losing supply on that side).

that should be "thrush" -- its a yeast infection you can sometimes get on your nipple.
