Damn. First off, how do I get freerunning, and secondly, I just got killed again. Damn it.

Freerunning is a military combat skill. You need to earn 150,100 or 75xp (depending on your class) to get it. Check out the UrbanDead wiki; it has lots of good tips and info.

I have 1 hp so I ran to a hospital. Might head up to Treweeke, except I'd need to damage the barricades to get in and I'm not sure how they take to that.

Since you started out as a civilian, free running costs 100 xp. You get 1 xp for every point of damage you do to a zombie (3 damage per hit with a fire axe) and 5 xp for every time you successfully use a first aid kit (FAK).

Alright, fuck it, I'm out. I can't even find a fucking safe house nor can I restore my AP at any appreciable level before some fucking zombie kills me, nor can I find any useful items.

I would try it again, but choose another name and pick firefighter as your starting class. Firefighter gives you an axe, and a 25% chance to hit, which means you can get XP fairly quickly.

If you really like your name, see if you can meet up with one of the other SDNSAGers and coop with them. You could heal them for XP or try to finish off a kill (killing gives you 10xp) and save experience until you can buy a useful XP getting skill like necrotech employment or axe proficiency. Once you have one of those and free running, your life becomes much easier.

I am trying to work my way up to East Becktown but its slow going.

argh, my main charjust got killed. Oh well, time to do some ZvZ. Even in death I kill zeds. Just takes longer since I don't take zed skills.

If anybody's got a revive handy in the area, I'm outside St. Isadore's in Darval Heights, will try to move to the Kenning or Sugg Building in East Becktown.

fuck! Mitchem Mall has fallen! We had that place barricaded like fucking crazy and it was defended by 60 people! now i'm a fucking zombie and there are dozens of dead bodies. what the fuck!

I've been infected. What do I do? I'm in St. Elisabeth's Hospital right now with a bunch of others. Ask for first aid, I presume?

Infections can be cured w/ a first aid kit. However, I'm guessing that you don't have one handy, so find a safehouse and ask for a heal. Other people will get XP for healing you, so they won't have much of a problem parting with a FAK.

Healing you is worth xp to the healer, so the odds of you getting one in a hospital is pretty good.
