So, by extension you agree with the drone being able to shoot the jedi with a blaster? After all, all the precog/force guidance will show is 'I'm gonna get shot'LaCroix wrote:Nope.. Anakin would get the precognition of

Thats why the jedi dont use such trial.
precog vs. reaction time.

Jedi pre-cog can't get somebody out of an impossible situation, and was never advertised to. It seems to me that this scenario is being devised in order to put the Jedi in a physically impossible situation and then ask if his precog can get him out of it even though it's impossible. I think that's a silly question, to be honest.

That's pretty much what it is, yes. As far as I can tell, this is a spinoff of 'the flash vs a Jedi' thread in fantasy, but without the huge holes in the assertion the flash really has stupid pico-second reactions as the fanwhores were claiming there.Darth Wong wrote:Jedi pre-cog can't get somebody out of an impossible situation, and was never advertised to. Who's that Flash? From what little I heard, he's a guy that ostensibly can go relativistic. If that's so, does it really matter so much if the Jedi can put his blade in front of him? Won't Flash simply, with his high velocity and thus momentum, force the blade out of the Jedi's hands, and with a high speed, the contact time with the blade would be short, which means a low energy transfer, which means he might live through this.
If he can be stopped by someone putting an arm out in front of him, or tripping on some debris, I don't think he'll survive a lightsaber bisceting his chest (although I suppose one could make a better estimation if a lightsaber's method of function was known.)Kazuaki Shimazaki wrote:Who's that Flash? Prior to this discussion, it was argued by some that precog would tell the Jedi exactly what the (insert arbitrarily fast character) was going to do and enable a block of the first attack no matter what, just because the Jedi would have an advance warning and begin to react before the attack. This discussion has established that facing an opponent with greatly superior reaction time is a physically impossible situation for a Jedi, something that apparently wasn't obvious before.Darth Wong wrote:Jedi pre-cog can't get somebody out of an impossible situation, and was never advertised to. The timeline:
1) Force tells Jedi hes about to be attacked in the head, will successfully move to block, and then is shot in the heart by a second shot following instantly.
2) Drone targets and shoots at head, notices that Jedi has managed to anticipate, shoots Jedi in heart instead.
Alternatively:
1) Force tells Jedi hes about to be shot either in the head or heart, depending on whether he moves to block an attack on his head or his heart
1b) Jedi picks how he wants to die, starts to act
2) Drone targets accordingly, Jedi dies.
Theres no paradoxes or twists - the Jedi changes the future all the time with his actions anyway against slower opponents. The only thing special about this scenario is that his actions are much slower than his enemies so his enemy can exploit the changed future once they oberve it, while the Jedi will just know that he can do X or Y, but he's still going to meet the big Force in the sky as neither the unchanged or changed futures contain a scenario where he lives on.
