Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
So anyone else pick this up? It seems to be a huge improvement over Warrior Within, and perhaps even comparable to Sands of Time. What does everyone else think?
Has the atmosphere been improved? Currently playing Warrior Within and while the chick with the steel thong is easy on the eyes in the prerendered sequences, overall the feel of the game is dissapointing compared to the original. Smoldering with generic rage indeed...
I really liked the fun playful feel of the original and from what I've seen the new sequel is again all dark, gloomy...

I enjoyed sands of time and warrior within, each have their own merits.
Warrior within has the better Fighting, sands of time the better plot. But still very good games in their own rights. my hope is that two thrones is an amalgamation of these.

That's apparently what they were aiming for. I haven't gotten that far, but so far it seems like they were successful.Zac Naloen wrote:I enjoyed sands of time and warrior within, each have their own merits.

The soundtrack is waaaaaay better than the crappy generic rock music in the second one though.

Gamecube
Playstation 2
XBox
Take your pick.
I've pre-ordered the PC version, myself. All the people who've played it so far have had positive things to say.

Just a warning, the fourth boss is fucking IMPOSSIBLE...
Well maybe not impossible, but really infuriating. Just adding on to my annoyance is that I have to keep watching the cutscene every fucking time I start it over since it can't be skipped.
Yeah, I get it, you weren't expecting to get kicked in the back. It's not that clever in the first place. After hearing it for the 15th time, I'm on the verge of throwing my GameCube out the window.

Actually, there is no reward for getting all the health upgrades- although the extra health sure is nice.
GREAT ending to the game, by the way.

That's bullcrap. It's CLOSURE. You can't just end the game without that part happening.observer_20000 wrote:Are you sure?
Spoiler alert:
I heard you only get to fight the Dark Prince if you get all the health upgrades.

Can anyone give me a rundown on what happened in Warrior Within? I got up to the part with the "Serpent Sword" and the two switches, but never got any further, and I don't know the ending.

I thought about buying this, but I played a friend's copy of Sands of Time and couldn't stand it. Is the whole series just nonstop fighting and puzzles in one large location? It got really repetitive, nothing to break up the fighting/puzzle solving like you would get in, say, a Zelda game.

The Prince is attacked by the black creature, but the Dahaka appears in the past and consumes the creature. Entering the throne room, he finds out Kaileena is the Empress and kills her in battle. Upon returning to the present, the Prince barely escapes from the Dahaka. Realizing that the Empress IS the Sands, the Prince falls into despair. He sees a mural created by the Maharajah honoring his men and detailing the Mask of the Wraith, which allowed him to change his fate. He eventually finds the Mask, but after putting it on he becomes the black creature that the Dahaka consumed in the past. The newly created Sandwraith makes his way back towards the throne room, eventually arriving at the main chamber just as the Prince and the Dahaka arrive there. This time, the Prince is consumed, and the Dahaka disappears. After the Prince's death, the Sandwraith reverts to being the Prince, leaving the Mask on the ground. He then proceeds to the throne room. Now depending on whether or not all the health upgrades were located beforehand, the Water Sword may or may not be in front of the hourglass.
Without the Water Sword, the Prince'll force Kaileena into the present and kill her there, after which the Dahaka arrives to consume her corpse and Farah's medallion. The Prince heads for home, only to see it burning.
With the Water Sword, the Prince will try reasoning with Kaileena in the present, but is interrupted by the Dahaka, who tries to consume Kaileena. The Prince kills the Dahaka with the Water Sword, and leaves with Kaileena. As they approach Babylon, we see that the city is under seige, with a mysterious warrior, dressed like the Prince, claiming "everything that is yours is rightfully mine, and mine it shall be!" Behind him, Farah is tied to a cross.

I just got all 3 Prince of Persia games for the PC in one pack for £25, a very nice deal! Spotted it in the local Game and grabbed myself a usb pad (playstation 2 style) too. I don't own any of the games, (played a little of PoP 2 at a friends) so I'm starting from the beginning with Sands of Time today. I'm about 70% through already though. It's great so far. Stylish fighting and the platforming puzzles are a nice change. Great camera control too. Puzzles are quiet logical, I've never been stuck on one for too long.

So...is this supposed to be the ending Two Thrones carries on from? Cos like...Well, there seems to be something missing from the opening video, then. Bleh.Darth Yoshi wrote:With the Water Sword, the Prince will try reasoning with Kaileena in the present, but is interrupted by the Dahaka, who tries to consume Kaileena. Also, Two Thrones is excellent. Reminds me of why I loved Sands of Time so much. Also reminds me of how angry Sands of Time made me at some points. The chariot race was very fun, and the Dark Prince is quite intresting to play as. It would have been nice to have the ability to turn into him at will though.
