I have no knowledge of the various mechs. I do find it funny that you have as many mechs as tanks, when they are supposedly far superior and such (and at the very least far more expensive and valuable). If these mechs are similar to those already discussed in other threads, the Tank side takes it.

Well without letting real-life wreck the fun. The mech side takes this easily. The Ishtar-FAKES from Gasaraki were easily destroying american tanks (act of plot + stupid tank formation), so they should be able to take the tanks down. The infantry wipe each other out. The biggest problem is the almighty Hind Gunships! Muahaha...anyway.

Reality = Tanks win.
Anime = Mecha win.

Wow, 2000 whole infantry in NYC. Going to be fucking impossible to secure any area, free for all for Russian AT teams. The mecha die rapidly from Kornets fired from the 10-20th floors of buildings at long range. There huge targets and the teams would have an easy times picking them off at long range, while the tanks safely in defilade behind buildings until you get onto the same street.

So it’s a real challenge when one side cost's 20 times more then the other?

So many people forget one simple fact: Zakus carry nukes. And the Anarctic Treaty won't hamstring them here.

Goodbye, sweet NYC.

Nuclear infantry weapons exist. And nuking the city is a copout admitance of defeat anyway. Hind's could also haul them.

Private Udaloy ran up to his commanding officer, out of breath.

"Sir, the other side is using Nukes!"

His CO, the General of the 22nd Guards Tank Division, was quick
to respond: "Filthy captialist dogs! Hit them back!"

As the Private ran off to relay the launch orders, General Colinoff
sat back and drained a cup of vodka as he smirked.

Ha. I knew you'd call in the muclear missiles Shep. Well, FORGET IT. They aren't in in your force's listing. Zakus, however, CARRY nukes with them. Besides, the C-type is designed to deal with heavy radiation, and can survive a nuclear blast, and if the Zekes let go of 100 nukes at once, poor Private Udaloy ain't gonna live long enough to shit himself.

400 T-90s = 1 Guards Tank Division, which has on call access to corps level
artillery assets.

How cute! In that case, 100 Zakus = 33 Zaku teams, which have access to Gallop land battleships and Jukon subs, which can also pelt you with nuclear missiles. Your claiming of unlisted support helps you not.

Either way, using nukes against the Bear is not a very bright idea.

Doesn't matter, once again, nuclear weapons exist for infantry use and the infantry type and armament is unspecified. The Hind also could be used to deliver multiple nukes at once, though it would be a one-way trip.

Lets not get started on the fact that the USSR actually gave Spetsnaz teams
access to man portable nukes as part of their plan to blow up strategic
targets behind enemy lines if WW3 ever broke out.

Agreed, but last I checked, this is a single battle.

The Zaku-C anti radiation model was designed to survive EMP and assorted radiation.

What's this about big targets? Ishtar FAKES aren't big targets. They're as tall as a tank is high. And they shred tanks with ease (they use ancient mystical stuff which is why they're hella agile). However I don't think they ever show the ability to survive nukes.

LEt's see... Can tanks shoot at targets on top of city buildings? It is not an unheard of feat for mecha to take to the rooftops.

Could the missile teams clear up enough space in the buildings to use their weapons without being cut to pieces by the backblast? while I'm sure they could, could they do it fast enough to respond to a rapid penetration?

And neko_oni, love the avatar.

Not an issue, almost every modern anti tank weapon incorporates a soft launch charge.

Not unheard of in anime, no, but how well could a building designed for humans accomodate mecha? How would they get to the rooftops in the first place, and, assuming they make it there, would the rooftops be capable of supporting the weight of the mecha in question anyway?

The better option for the mecha (the smaller mecha, at least) would be to launch ambushes from buildings with relatively large lobbies, rather than attempting to do anything from the rooftops.
