'Cause I'm in fucking America, the asshole of the first world as far as highschool education goes and we started on that in like 7th grade over. Chardok does not know the pythagorean theorem. I forgot what the commutative and communi..ta....tive(?) properties are and their differences. I do not know what a hypotenuse is, I do not know how to find the f(x). I forgot how to factor, I couldn't find the length of a side to save my life, don't know how to graph answers, never understood algorithms, etc. And I get along just fine, don't consider myself to be lacking in intelligence at all, or missing out on anything life has to offer. I simply have no use for that crap, so I deleted it to free up space on my meat-hard drive. Problem?

Yeah darthdavid, not everyone remembers or even learns that shit. My husband and I are with Chardok, and we're two intellegent people. It's not a part of adult life and it's all a waste of time in high school unless you want to become some kind of scientist or mathemetician and of course if you want to become a good math or science teacher.

How many other ADULTS are with us in that you don't use that crapola anymore in your day to day life?

darthdavid, you need to calm down and stop freaking out on Ace's education system, there are reasons why different places have different levels of education. Now calm down dude.

Actually if you read his response, darthdavid's second response at no point is complaining that adults not learning but that someone within his complimentary level of education is not learning something he has. It stems from the idea that US is pretty much on the low side of the totem pole when it comes to education and he's disgusted with that he's witnessing an education system lower then his own.

His first is because he's young.

DD, for the love of sanity, relax. Our system is geared for first learning the basics that lead to algebra and geometry, THEN geometry, we start that in 8th grade and keep doing it for a while, with less hours per week then you do. I'm utterly confused on the U.S educational system, but its simple, you do geometry in a very intensive fashion for a year, we carry it on for a few.
