Excellent piece, analyzes many common methods carefully with a humorous tone. He's a good sport, too, not rejecting some of the fictional ideas arrogantly. He provides this nice little nugget:
Darth Vader in this movie describes the Death Star's capabilities as insignificant compared to the power of the Dark Side of the Force. Combined with Yoda's statements about size being irrelevant in the sequel movie The Empire Strikes Back, this would seem to imply that a powerful Sith or Jedi could destroy a planet ON HIS OWN. We never see a hint of this somewhat terrifying possibility becoming a reality anywhere in the movies though.
in the comics, I believe it was Naga Shadow that used the Dark Side to cause Supernovas, and Emperor Palpatine could create Force Storms and probably could shatter worlds given time.

Sadow (that's the proper spelling, afaik) had to use Sith devices to magnify their Force powers however. So it's not like they could -quite- do it on their own.
"It's you Americans. There's something about nipples you hate. If this were Germany, we'd be romping around naked on the stage here."
Ah, Abby's Planet Killer. What Chaos fleet would be complete without it.
Seriously, Chaos players include it in every fucking game of BFG - just about.

Exar Kun had Naga Sadow's weapon. What's really scary is that one of his apprentices was able to use the weapon to nova a star. The next part of the story is so dumb it hurts the reader's brain, but that's a seperate issue.

Nova or supernova? There is a difference, nova basically a huge solar flare. Supernova is the whole star explodes.

Sorry, I was sloppy. It was a supernova.
