Any way to force AGP 4x?
I have an AGP 8x motherboard with a videocard that seems to work better at AGP 4x, but I can't find any way to change this. It's an Asus P4P800. Anyone got an ideas?

The Omega Drivers have an app called SmartGart, which lets you set AGP speed. I cant vouch for the results tho, but Im using Omega myself and am happy with it.

I'm using an NVidia graphics card on this machine, so no ATI driver solutions for me. I saw an option for AGP 8x and 4x on my NVidia drivers but it was grayed out.

Ah yes, someone who understands.weemadando wrote:Ah, another poor sod like me with the P4P800 and all of its quirks. I particularly like how you can only get USB hot-swapping working by disabling USB 2.0.

Have you tried flashing to the latest BIOS?
I'll have to make sure he reads this.
A friend of mine swears by Intel chipset mobos and constantly rubs it in that I had to switch from an nF3 to a VIA K8T800 based board to get USB 2 working properly.Ah, another poor sod like me with the P4P800 and all of its quirks.
