OMG NEW TREKKY SHIP!!11

Post by Einhander Sn0m4n »

It's a Quantum Slipstream ship with a roughly Miranda/Nebula/Akira-type layout. I used a rather old hull design I had on the hard drive previously. I'm currently at a loss for how to make the warp nacelle pylons...

Who needs pylons? Mount them directly under the wings.

It looks like the Minbari, Vorlons, and Federation collaborated to make the TrekStar class ship. :)

Normally I don't like trekship design, but this is pretty cool :D

In keeping with the streamlined and flowing nature of the ship, I'd suggest something as shown in these quick n nasty images (I'm sure you don't mind my editing of the pics)

Those prongs at the back could be replaced with nacelles, built into the hull. I don't know much about trek design, if I remember correctly they dont build the nacelles into the hull for a reason?

Or, I would suggest continuing the curves at the front and back of the hull like this...

Just my 2p. Whatever you come up with, be sure to post it back here!

You know Ein, you have a very distinctive look to your ships. Im not
really sure I could this a 'Trek' ship, but that doesn't mean I don't like it
:D It's sleek, smooth, looks fast, and could be a wicked Cruz-Mobil. I will
echo some other comments that it looks a bit like something the Minbari
might have made, thats mostlybecause of the 'fishtail' in the back.

Overall I really like it, though, it needs more guns ;)

I like that last one the best, honestly. I think that the story behind it should be that it was the first collaborative effort between the federation and the Klingon empire to design and build a starship. Sort of a JSF for the ST universe. It DOES, after all, have very distinctive Klingon design cues, methinks.

Finally decided how to attach the warp engine nacelles. I also employed my edge-tech phaser arrays first seen in the USS Bulldog. I also started a preliminary impulse engine design.

Einy, have you considered using Paint.net or something in the end to touch up the ships? When I'll get home I'll throw something together to show you its uses.
Useless geek posting above.
