I compressed some files for safe keeping, and I password protected them with passwords even I couldn't remember, and put obvious(to me) hints in the comments section of WinRAR when I zipped them. The passwords were so complicated that there's no way I can remember them now, but the hints were easy, things like "FavoriteCharacterOnTeenTitans,HighSchoolID#,MainCharacterFromFavoriteDavidWeberSeries", so I knew if I saw them, I would get it immediately.
But when I went to unzip them, I can't see the comments I made, so I have some files I created that I really want that I can't access sitting on my hard drive.
Does anyone know of a way to find the comments I made?
Or, failing that, does anyone know of a program I can use to just unzip them anyway?

Re: Encrypted RAR Help
It really depends on how old the file is. The older the RAR program that created the archive, the easier to brute force the encryption it will be. It really depends on age.
Re: Encrypted RAR Help
You can open the archive in WinRAR and see what's inside. You'll need the password to extract things. Comments can be seen if you open the archive in WinRAR, press 'Alt+I' and select the 'Comments' tab.Darth Atheos wrote:Does anyone know of a way to find the comments I made?
