Darth Maul
Could Darth Maul have participated in teh Clone Wars. Since there's a comic that Maul fights Vader.
Every single Jedi, including your friend, Obi-Wan Kenobi, is now an enemy of the Republic; do what must be done Lord Vader, do not hesitate, show no mercy. -Emperor Palpatine

First off, try to lay off the thread post button for a bit. It could be interprited as spamming.darthmenical wrote:Could Darth Maul have participated in teh Clone Wars. Since there's a comic that Maul fights Vader.
As to your question, no. Maul died on Naboo. Both his EU appearences after that are non-canonical.

I remember that particular comic. A sect of monks devoted to the Dark Side actually resurrected Darth Maul and pitted him against Darth Vader in an attempt to prove that Darth Vader was not worthy of being Sidious's apprentice.
"Our people were meant to be living gods, warrior-poets who roamed the stars bringing civilization, not cowards and bullies who prey on the weak and kill each other for sport. I never imagined they'd prove themselves so inferior. I didn't betray our people – they betrayed themselves."

Yup. As I said, both that story, and the second Kenobi duel in Visionaries are non-canonical (I believe Chee confirmed this on the OS.)Wasn't it a Star Wars Tales short when it was still tagged "Infinities"?

But, speaking as someone who first read "Visionaries" a couple of days ago, the Maul-Kenobi fight on Tatooine was sooooo sweet to look at. And it would fit well into the canon - and I think that some may be taking the lack of internal organs spilling out the giant gash in Maul's top half as he fell as evidence that he was holding himself together somehow.Noble Ire wrote:Yup. actually Dark Jedi have survived from a similar wound (in Dark Forces 2).Stark wrote:I love it when idiots play mod.
Still, I'm curious how anyone could see a *comic* with Maul fighting Vader (probably over Quinlan Voss, he's such a sexy, edgy beast) and decide that being laterally bisected in TPM probably didn't kill him. It's nuts.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

Indeed. Although it should be remembered that the Dark Jedi in question was aboard Jerec's Vengeance when Jedi Master Qu Rahn cut him in half and as such he had quick access to medical facilities - a resource that Darth Maul could not call upon. And the other Dark Jedi might also had used their possible healing powers on their hapless comrade (once again, something that Maul lacked). And finally, Maul fell down a deep shaft and most likely would have died from serious concussions when he hit the ground - the Dark Jedi in Dark Forces II just fell on the ship's floor, although the pain must have been immeasurable.Lord Revan wrote:actually Dark Jedi have survived from a similar wound (in Dark Forces 2).Stark wrote:I love it when idiots play mod.
