It's just a rush to get Lui Bei and then pwn the world with him.

People who use Lu Bu are lamers.

Using someone crap like Pang Tong or Huang Gai is just too frustrating, so I stick to the bland guys like Zhao Yun, Xiahou Dun and the Qiaos. The cheese of Ling Tong is also very amusing.

I have DW4 for my xbox. As for characters theres so many to choose :D

The guy with the weird sword/shield/gun weapon was pretty sweet, though his melee range was rather short. I was quite fond of characters that had a Mosou that paralyzed a character with a series of super quick attacks. Mainly for wasting other leaders.

I wish they made it for the PC. Sure, it'd be a piss poor port, but it should be fun.

My fave throughout the Three Kingdoms period is and will always be Cao Cao (Tsao Tsao)

Guan Yu can drop people from his special! That's nuts! :D Cao Cao in DW3 with his Sword of Purple Death was hilarious.

Aw. c'mon, Lu Bu's victory line in DW4 kicks ass!

"Who else seeks death?!"

I'm partial to the characters with polearm weapons myself. Lu Bu, Zhang Liao, Ma Chao, Jiang Wei, Xing Cai, and Pang De are all good.

Bah, Lu Bu's cheap, and is only really good for Xtreme Mode in DW4XL, in my opinion.

Acidburns - the one you speak of is Cao Ren. While the weapon's fucking awesome, he's slower than shit (a la Dian Wei and Xu Zhu).

Guan Yu, I dunno, I never really could get a grip on him.

Though, I've learned to like Zhuge Liang a little more in the transition between DW3 and DW4. Of course, hard not to like a guy that shoots lasers in 200AD China. :D I still prefer Sima Yi, however; his general attacks do hella more damage, are a lot more effective and efficient, and he's generally a more well-balanced character.

Jiang Wei, however, between DW3 and DW4 downgraded severely, and I was kind of saddened by the fact. :(

"A downhill charge, like falling blossom!"

You just can't beat an overly camp, shirtless, katar weilding, manically laughing nut job.

Though Cao Cao's Purple Sword of Death was quite fun, as is Zhen Ji and her Flying Kick. Oh, and Xihaou Dun.

I hear there are sides that aren't Wei, but I rarely played them.
According to wikipedia, "the Mohorovičić discontinuity is the boundary between the Earth's crust and the mantle."
According to Starbound, it's a problem solvable with enough combat drugs to turn you into the Incredible Hulk.

Oddly enough, Wei is my *least* favourite kingdom to play. Xiahou Dun is pretty good, his attack speed in DW4 went up phenomenally from DW3, which I was happy for. Unfortunately, Dian Wei and Xu Zhu are just sadly slow. Zhen Ji is definitely more balanced, but her musou was way toned down, which bites, but makes up for her being more balanced in the first place. I personally like she isn't so snobbish sounding beyond DW3, lol.

Cao Cao, in general, is the most balanced of the ruler characters. Sun Jian is just boring. Sun Quan, I love his charge attacks (minus charge 5). Sun Ce is fun, but his attack range went all screwy from 3 to 4. SSX can be fun to play, but she seems to lose range with each progressive game (though, her weapons are much cooler looking). Liu Bei is just fun. Yuan Shao's voice annoys me enough to never play him. Meng Huo is slow as shit, but powerful. Zhu Rong got better, in all forms, save costume. Dong Zhuo is a little more well-rounded, but still very slow. Zhang Jiao is all, 'Ooo, pretty FIRE!!!!' the damned pyro.. but I love that. XD

...Note to self, do not go on a breakdown of every single character, thanks.

One major change, though, from DW3 to DW4 I did NOT like was how insanely fast Gan Ning's musou is. At least in 3, you could AIM him... >.>

Unless it has proper multi with every general on both sides being playable by humans, it's not good enough!

But hey, Koei don't want to stop releasing DW2, so they won't change anything... no even 'if your mate dies you can continue, it's okay' mode.

dynasty warriors being what it is (And that is essentially a final-fight style button smasher) I do not feel that it lends itself well to PvP action. the Arena mode in DWIV was it's weakest part, and bored me to tears, to be honest. It comes down to who can get the first hit in, juggle the best, and who has the best weapon.

Sucky Mcshittlehopper would not be amused.

Oh yeah, all the 'duel modes' and PvP subgames were really, really crap. They'd need to tweak a lot of things to prevent the 'one combo and you're dead' effect, but it'd be neat if the Cao Ren crushing your left flank was a person and not a really, really stupid AI. :)

I have the feeling I remeber reading about several DW style games coming out soon.

Also, is Kingdom under Fire any good?

Gah, the duel modes in DW4 DO suck horrendously. >.< I've beaten my friends with people I should not have been able to beat them with, however, considering the characters I was using. =\

The challenge modes are insane, too, and I can't believe there is stuff that can only be unlocked in said challenge modes.

The general engines, while very good (and the basis of games like God of War and Drakengard), are also very shitty at the same time. And the glitches suck to ungodly amounts. >.< I.e., one where the enemies directly in front of you DISAPPEAR.

Yes. It's very good.

The RTS side is a little limited, but what units there are tend to be highly specialised, meaning that although there are only 10 or so types per side (with a couple of different grades) there's a reasonable diversity in battle.

Plus the combat is wonderfully visceral, especially if you have cavalry in the fight, as they'll charge through enemy formations, causing massive damage as they thunder past. Unless they hit pikemen. In which case they all die messily. (This is the only game I've seen where cavalry charges absolutely can't overcome a pike wall).

The personal fighting is quite fun as well, there are only four characters (more in KUF:Heroes), but they are all distinct fighters with their own ranges of moves and styles.

Don't try and find the PC version though, that was a boring generic RTS.

Tried to install DW4 Hyper and then run it, but no luck. Ho-hum. Then again, my computer exits Taikou Risshiden V, so it might just be my laptop? :(

Amusingly, Stark, there's a Dynasty Warriors BroadBand... exclusive to Yahoo! Japan (DSL?) users. :P

DW2, DW3, DW3XL, DW4, and DW4XL are being repackaged into the Shin Sangokumusou Series Collection.

I have to give it up for Samurai Warriors and the upcoming Samurai Warriors 2, though. Individual characters over kingdoms (something only "corrected" by DW5)... and the omnipresence of Nobunaga.

Yeah, sounds about right. But reading "pwn the world with Liu Bei" was hilarious.

Showed off DW4 Lu Bu just to get a reaction from my friend at him waving around a random enemy like a fish with his first Charge attack. :P
