It a versus
Third is, plant a low yield war head, maybe Nagasaki yield near the hangar. If there are any convient hills infront of the hangar, place it on the side facing the hangar so you can atleast direct some energy right into it.
Nothing like an act of terrorism to start the day huh?

Well judging on the tactical ability of the Republic during AOTC........I think they probably should.
Have every freaking advantage over that planet......yet what do they do, set down a ground force and fight the enemy, toe to toe. When what they bloody well should have done was blasted apart any and ALL military targets from orbit.
Of course...that would have been the smart thing to do....but what could we possibly expect from the government that up until AOTC, hasnt had a standing military for....how many centuries?
Is it therefore going to change the state of play?
NO!

They're supposed to be a friggin' peaceful planet, maybe more so than Alderaan. All military forces are for police duty; notice the Gian speeders?
Maybe they have more than one squadron of starfighters; they'll still need more than just starfighters to completely halt the invasion. At any rate, they should have launched their starfighters BEFORE the Trade Federation invasion began...

What invasion, the US would never even land. The starfighters would massacre them.
Err why? if they sent fighters up against that whole pile of trade fed ships they'd be slaughtered. Not so against the USA

Not much, since they would not be grabbed by the sea monsters.
The sea monsters were a threat to an itty-bitty little fragile, unarmed Gungan submarine.
But to a 400 foot long thick-steel-hulled nuclear powered underwater warship, the sea monsters would be absolutely no threat at all. They would see the sea monsters coming from miles away on the sonar, and blow the crap out of them.
P.S. The Gungan sub didn't even have sonar or suchlike... pfft.

Well that's just stupid. No animal could be a KM long, it's body would just break up.
Where are you getting this from anyway?
Nothing can travel faster than light
nothing can communicate instantly across a galaxy
etc etc etc
IIRC that is the length given in the VD or some such.
