Fire breathing T-Rex, just ask Dr. Dino

Post by Azazal »

I did a search and did not see, if already posted please ignore

Bit over on Panda's Thumb, some one posted a child's place mat from a road side dinner, a place mat made using Dr. Dino's info - http://www.pandasthumb.org/pt-archives/000947.html

Check the scanned place mat and the dino "facts"

Well at least I know how to kill a T-rex, just in case I'd ever meet one in a vacation in Afrika

How silly of those people in Jurassic Park and its sequels. All they had to do was walk up to the 20 metre tall ferocious killing machine, and pull an arm off. Then laugh heartily as the thing bleeds to death. I wonder if that'd be before or after it's bitten you in two, stomped your corpse or perhaps lit it on fire with deadly fire breath. And I thought the punching a shark on the snout thing was stupid.

Okay,. . . . . . did someone mock this up? Surely someone doesn't actually believe this! Breathing fire???? :? This makes me angry because it just gives you all another reason to "laugh at the stupidity of the creationists". I can only say that, although "Dr." Dino is a Christian, . . . . . I'm quite sure that he would be in the MINORITY on his views. They are, of course, ridiculous!

I don't think you should look at that Gallup poll on Creationism then. It'd shock you how many Americans apparently believe in the literal YEC.

I wish I could remember where, but I read somewhere recently that the scientific literacy rate in that poll was 20%...80% of those polled were science illiterates.

Considering that a guesstimated 70% or so were also HS graduates, and that things in this country's education system are not improving, my blood runs cold when I think about the future.

I have no doubt that it's some greasy spoon shithole in the vicinity of Hovind's Creationist Dino-Land Amusement Park or whatever the fuck it is he calls it.

I wonder if Dr. Dino suffered brain trauma as a child while watchinf the Flintstones and Godzilla. The effect of the trauma left him with the impression that these were documataries and not entertainment.

Frank Hipper - It only says Dunlap, Tennessee. Maybe avoid the area in general?

Guess I was wrong, Hovind's Dinosaur Adventure Land is in Florida...absolutely zero surprise that this menu comes from Tennessee, however. :x

I spoke with this clown personally after one of his "debates" at CSU Chico. He lied to me at least three or four times during our "conversation," and made a few things up on the spot. He once even contradicted his own lie within 5 minutes.

I believe he is a showman and a liar. There is nothing honest about Hovind, and most other creationist groups like "Answers in Genesis," have distanced themselves from him.

In short, Kent Hovind himself is about as real as his doctorate. He's the Benny Hinn of creationists.

It is. But it's being proposed as a serious theory to rival what we currently know of paleobiology, so that's why we worry.

How dare you sully the name of Benny Hill. The man was a genius. Appologise this instant.

You've got to admit, this guy's life would be a sketch for that show if it weren't already real.

Are you sure its not actually just an elaborate sketch. I don't want to think about the possibility that billions of years of evolution can result in someone so stupid.

Fire breath, brittle arms, hemophilia, walnut-sized brain... :wtf:

It should be a capital crime to malign one of the greatest predators that ever lived like that- although fire breath would be cool. I'm curious to know where that one even came from, or if they just pulled it out of their ass- oops, I mean Scripture.

If non-avian dinosaurs are still around, I only hope that Kent Hovind and an expedition of missionaries are the first to encounter them. Only problem is, the reality is so far-removed from their Victorian Era abortion of a concept that they'll just think they're being disemboweled by demons.

It's not a joke. It's their attempt to explain the various fire breathing monsters mentioned in the Bible.

Now, follow the bouncing ball as we go down the twisted road of Dr. Dino logic:

Medieval dragons were actually the dinosaurs. Some medieval dragons were supposed to be able to breath fire. Ergo, some dinosaurs breath fire!

FUCKING HELL.

Just reading that made me lose at least half of my IQ. Thankfully, the atrocious layout, spelling and general look of the fucking thing makes me believe that this was crafted by dumb-arse rednecks without a clue to start with.

This sort of thing really gets on my nerves. I would like to find Kent Hovind and kick his scripture.

Well, consider the intelligence of your average fundamentalist. Then, by definition, fully half must be more stupid than that.

Of course, that's a copied and pasted joke, and uses median rather than mean.

The word dinosaur means terrible triceratops.

Before the 1800s, dinosaurs were actually called ten.

Lizard had three horns.

The t-rex weighed as much as dragon thousand pounds.

There ya go. That makes as much sense as the stuff on the mat.
