Just a note, there are only two human Primarchs left and both are in stasis.
Lion El'Johnson - in stasis deep within the rock. His condition is known only to the watchers in the dark & maybe the Emperor
Leman Russ - vanished into the Eye of Terror, destined to return
Sanguinnius - died by the hand of Horus
Ferrus Manus - Supposed to have died during the dropsite massacre of Istaavn IV
Vulkan - vanished, destined to return
Corax - vanished destined to return
Robute Guilliman - throat slashed & poisoned by Fulgrim, on Macraggy, dead - though some say his wounds are healing, no doubt he is also destined to return
Jagati Khan - vanished chasing some Dark Eldar in the webaway, destined to return
Rogal Dorn - depending on what you read hw is either dead & his skeleton is on display or his severed hand was found & he is missing. Likely to be dead.

They ones destined to return will come back at the Imperium's most dire moment, when the Emperor has either died or is mortal again and it is the end of everything, the final battle...in Warhammer 40k this will NEVER happen...

Indeed but the fact that they A, can land a ship on mars, and B have system devouring black hole weaponry (the shroud incident and Codex Necrons page 25 respectively) and can cross the galaxy in under a second (page 25 again) exterminating the humans couldn't be that difficult. Also Nightbringer "Entire galaxies had lived and died at their masters command" (italics mine) It's game balance. The reason the phase out is due to the fact that it is illogical to continue when you have taken 75% casualties under normal circumstances, again game balance. e.g. in the Void dragons background the necrons can shoot lightning from their fingers suffivient to kill an army. and those are the warriors (though admittedly his necrons are more advanced than the others)
So why are the orks, Tyranids, Tau, Eldar and who knows how many over races the Necrons have no real use for since humanity can supply all their soul munching needs, still around then. They may be powerful but they ain't the kings of the universe yet. (Damnit, I'm not gonna win this debate till GW get off their asses and start a necrons-themed summer campaign. Wonder how many years that'll take.) Wiping out humantiy would take time and if it ever got to that stage there'd be numerous powerful entities skulking around the universe who wouldn't want that to happen. (Chaos gods would be able to extend their influence, the emporer would still be around, all the primarchs and god-like figures that were prophesised to return and all that would all over the place.) Pariahs would aide against that but even then they're not in unlimited supply.
 They are around because what the fuck is the point of a one sided wargame? Thus being the point of the great warding... one little thing that would solve all of those problems

(walks away casually whisteling waiting to be called on the fact that Vaul the Smith God made the swords....) Well yes thats true, but these people only got the swords after proving themselves to Khalia Mensha Khaine as his best warriors, thay had been fighting, according to the Inquistion anyway, the Necrons with Swords and spears, (and the occasional God) for some time.
Warp swords of doom made by the Eldar Gods(or the Old Ones?)

Thus again being why the necrons really despise psykers

Bah, the Tau will 0wnzor the Imperium!

*ducks and hides from IG guns*

But I think the Necrons have a pretty good chance of winning this one. They have better tech, they refuse to die, they are pretty damn tough too.

True...

You have to look at it from a fluff point of view, really, in order to get a sense of scale.

But since the Necrons are fighting everyone else AS WELL as the Imperium their dire plans maybe averted.

Don't forget the Chaos gods don't exactly like the Necrons so the Imperium will get some indirect help from that corner...

Got a point there. Although the Deceiver could swing things a little, he could make everyone fight ech other. He has done it before.

But he'll never be able to mess around too much with the Space Marines. They're too loyal for any of that shit.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't - ah, the blessings of Games Workshops delibrately vague fluff...

I doubt they do worship the void Dragon, more so I believe they just see flesh as weak. On a similar note I don't believe the ENTIRE Adeptus Mechanicus (inadvertatly) worship the Void Dragon, rather a small faction of them do...similar to the factions in Inquisitor...

I feel that if suddenly GW say the C'tan are behind EVERYTHING then it cheapens Warhammer 40K...

Thus we return to the beginning of this argument, whether Tzeentch would be the Deciever at his own game, IMHO while the Deciever is good he just doesn't benefit from the unique state of mind that comes with being fuelled by intrigue, deception, and ever-changing anarchy.
