Jango/Boba's gauntlet weapons?

Post by zman16 »

Hey,

I want to know what does Jango and/or Boba carry on their right gauntlets, besides a whipcord launcher. Do they have a wrist blaster on that side? I also notice four needle-like things on it. What are those?

Also, that thingamajig on their left gauntlet that looks sort of like a missile, is that a mini concussion rocket, wrist blaster, dart shooter, or can he mount any of these on that gauntlet?

On the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter game site, it says he can shoot darts from his left gauntlet. Another source suggested that gauntlet fired mini concussion rockets or darts in the same weapon mount. And that there was a wrist blaster in the forward position of his gauntlet. But its pointing to his miniature flame thrower nozzel. There are two nozzels there though. Is one of them a flame thrower and the other a wrist blaster?

Another curious thing I want to know is, does the small line and rectangle on his left chestplate serve any purpose? I remember in ESB Boba's had flashing red lights. It may not, could be for decoration.

Heres a picture to help you know what Im talking about:

Thanks for the help. Just wanted to understand all his weapons.

Boba has a wrist blaster, as seen in RotJ, but Jango almost certainly does not, since he's always lunging for dropped pistols. He could have killed Obi-Wan very easily at one point in their fight if he'd had Boba's wrist blaster. The kid learns from his old man's mistakes, eh?

I have no idea what all the fiddly bits on each wristlet do, but they both definately have those "smart" wrist-cords. Jango's got a flamethrower and all EU evidence states that Boba has one, too. They both have a wrist-rocket on the left side, but we never see it fired...which doesn't surprise me, as it seems pretty impractical.

As for the right wristlet, I saw a 12-inch toy Jango that showed that he fired the poisoned "saberdart" from this gauntlet. While we are talking about a toy here, it wouldn't surprise me, since it looks nothing like the big rocket/dart on his other gauntlet. Also, some sources (The Hutt Gambit for one) state that both in a set of Mandalorian wristlets fire darts.

IIRC, the EU gives Boba a pair of kneepad-mounted rocket darts.

*spoilers*Which are taken away from him by Lando Calrissian when he foils Boba's capture of Han later in the book.

As to what is full armament is, I don't know if it's ever been stated. He's called a "walking armory" before, but I can't recall a detailed listing of all his gear. From the top of my head, he customarily carries his BlasTech EE-9 Carbine, his jetpack-mounted missle, a wrist-mounted flamethrow, a wrist-mounted concussion-dart launcher and knee-pad dart launchers. He's been known to augment his basic equipment as needed, but this is him "barebones", at least as I can recall.

But it's a typical set of wristlets, as evidenced by the fact that he uses Mandalorian wristlets throughout the films. I'm sure Boba's constantly looking for spare pieces of Mandalorian equipment.[/code]

Just because he uses Mandalorian wristlets doesn't make them commonplace. In fact, remember that they were in Teroenza's collection, which was composed of rare and highly valuable items, not commonplace equipment. Mandalorian equipment is extremely rare, as evidenced by the great surprise when Kast (can't remember his first name) was found to be an imposter. No one thought that there was more Mandalorian armor floating around. Yes, Boba had some spare suits, but he was of Mandalorian descent and most likely inherited them from his father.

Why are we still typing in small text? It's not really a spoiler to point out that Boba's ALWAYS wearing Mandalorian wristlets, whatever the fate of one particular set.

After all, Lando and Han relieved Boba of ALL his weapons, and he quickly replaced them. I'm sure Boba considered a spare set suitable payment from Teroenza because of the risk of this very thing.

So you're saying:

Right wrist is equipped with: 1 whipcord launcher, may be also equipped with dart a launcher(s), and supposedly holds any other little gadgets not ever stated.

Left wrist is equipped with: 1 concussion rocket/dart launcher, 1 flame thrower, 1 wrist blaster, (only Boba Fett) and supposedly holds any other little gadgets not ever stated.

And that he probably changes the weapons according to necessity.

In ROTJ when Boba fires his wrist blaster at Luke, its firing from whats supposed to be the concussion missile. Is this a mistake? Or was it not figured out yet where it fired from exactly since they were just making a movie then and not building wrist blasters?

I'm thinking the wrist blaster would probably be the 2nd nozzel thats located right next to the flame thrower, because it'd seems useless to have 2 flame thrower nozzels if they get the same fuel. Besides, if you look close at the supposed conussion missile, there is no "barrel" or "nozzel" for anything to shoot out of. It just looks like a small warehead. But I get confused because jango also has 2 nozzels at his flame thrower, but doesn't have a wrist blaster. Hmmmmmmm

If you know exactly where it is on the left gauntlet (that might've never been stated in any Star Wars or EU stuff, don't know) let me know.

Maybe you just have to use your imagination and guess where it is.

Do you know anything about the cables coming from out of his arms, connecting to the gauntlets, besides the one on the left that most likely fuels the flame thrower? Just another thing I thought to ask while I'm at it.

Actually, for the flamethrower, it would make sense to have two protrusions at the end of the barrel; one a nozzle, one for the spark. If two nozzles, then two separate fuels which combust when mixed in air.

As for the rest of it; I'm willing enough to put his wristblaster coming from the rocket as a VFX glitch. Might've been a projectile of some sort in a plasma sheath, though, as Chewie's bowcaster was said to be (*that* is more likely simply a fancy blaster though).

For your picture: most of the wrist guard stuff's been dealt with. Those lines on his chestplate are probably nothing more than ID, perhaps in some optical code for scanning. It might just be where he peeled off the price tag and he just never got around to the goo-gone... :P

As others have mentioned yeah, Boba's got that cord launcher and the wrist blaster. Jango's got the rope thingy and the saber dart launcher and flame thrower, PLUS he has those blades that pop out of both arms, which he uses to climb with, but could theoretically be used as last ditch melee weapons as well. The ROTJ wrist blaster couldn't be a "mistake" if it were made prior to the EU statements of his armaments, could it?

Is Boba supposed to be using Jango's armor repainted and modified, or his own suit? (Ie: Jango had multiple suits of armor, not just the one with a spare jetpack or two)

He's got a different gun of course, and the jetpack missile is shown at least in ESB.
fun/fantasy movies existed before the overrated Star Wars came out. What made it seem 'less dark' was the sheer goofy aspect of it: two robots modeled on Laurel & Hardy, and a smartass outlaw with bigfoot co-pilot and their hotrod pizza-shaped ship, and they were sucked aboard a giant Disco Ball. -adw1

IIRC, Boba's main outfit is a repainted Jango set with some of the pieces taken off such as the thigh plates; he also has sets of Mandalorian armour that he has collected over time. I don't remember if he took Jodo Kast's set of armour, though...

Boba Fett's armour was Jaster Mereel's, not Jango's.

Additionally, he couldn't have taken Kast's, because Fett killed him in an explosion.

I'm pretty sure Boba is using his father's armor, since the Mandalorians didn't exist around the time Boba was seen with the armor, and so probably making it difficult to aquire another suit. Plus I think I remember reading it somewhere. But I also read that he's wearing Jaster Mereel's armor. So I'm not sure. But I'd like to think he's wearing his father's.

Elheru, you're probaly right about the projectile being wraped in plasma or something similar, because I just watched my ROTJ Dvd at the part where he fires it and the projectile is quite large and glowing, looks larger than a regular blaster bolt.

Does anyone know of any book or anything that shows a picture or story of him firing his wrist blaster? Because it could be nothing more than a gun that fires energy covered projectiles. I've not been able to find where the wrist blaster is located on his gauntlet, or what type of things it fires.

By the way Elheru I like your joke about the price tag on his armor....thats really funny XD

You're right about having two nozzels for the flame thrower..I forgot you needed a spark lol

And Chewie's bowcaster fires quarrels which are material projectiles encased in an energy envelope.

Some sources said that his armor was made out of "Mandametal" and others say its made out of "Duraplast". They both are supposed to protect against blasts and even lightsaber attacks. Which is the correct name?

Thanks for the info guys it helps.

Heh...thanks anyway but I already found that....that was actually one of the "other sources" that I mentioned. That thing does have some pretty good info on it.
