Team Manga vs Team Comic

The premise is simple. All the characters from all officially published, fairly mainstream manga ever...

...vs all the characters from all officially published, fairly mainstream American comics, ever.

By mainstream, I mean, you can't include some extremely obscure character that no one has ever heard of but you(because then the Principality of Zan would own all, and that would be unfair)

When you talk about manga, are you talking about the artform (There are manga comics coming out from places like brazil and mexico), or Manga as in stirckly japanese comics?

Really eather way I say manga wins... but its orders of manigutude I'm talking about here.

DBZ makes me feel bad about being an anime fan.

Speaking of which some friends and I are marathoning NGE over the weekend. None of us have done it for about two years, so its time to do it again.

Beyonder, Franklin Richards, The Doctor, Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, all people who could obliterate large portions of the Universe with a thought.
Comics pretty much dominates this one.

From Slayers Manga: Lord of Nightmares
From Sailor Moon Manga: The Sailor Senshi (The Sailor Senshi get insanely powerful later on, or so I've heard. Something about Galaxia and Chaos.)
From Ah my Goddess Manga: Belldandy and her Father.
From Tenchi Manga: Washu (She who can p**p-slap Doom.) & Tsunami (Who diverts a galaxy-busting explosion with ease)
From Dragonball Manga: The usual cast of idiots.
From Rayearth Manga: Mononoka (I hope I don't spoil anything, but Mononoka turns out to be freaking powerful.)

In short, since there are a HELL of a lot more manga than comics, and a HELL of a lot more seperate "universes" in Manga (since comics tends to have only two big ones, Marvel and DC) and since many of these "universes" have their own cosmologies, team Manga has more sets of Omnipotent Gods than there are in Team Comics. Manga wins by sheer numbers.

In addition, since there are sop many people there, that's more power that Goku can draw on to perform his Plot Device Attack.

I would say that Manga would win, throught sheer force of numbers. There are WAY more manga published than American comics. Its a mainstream popular media there, whereas comics in America are a marginal, dying media. Therefors, more Manga characters equals victory for manga!

Not entirely true. One god-like character can eliminate many times its number in lesser characters. Numbers are not totally a factor.

Though manga will probably win, they have a fuckload of godly characters , though the plot device characters of the comic world will give them a tough fight, if they don't win.

Only characters with reality control are going to matter, anyone without that ability gets obliterated as soon as the fight starts on both sides. So aside from Shen-long and Goku as Shen long, the entire DBZ cast is completely impotent. Hoody-Hoo!

Well, too a point thats true.

The way I see it we have three weight classes.

normal to powerful: Punisher, Gunssmith cats, to X-men (without phonex), X.

Uber: Silver surffer, thor, Superman, DBZ, Tenchi.

ultra uber: galatus, tlt, La-Sama, three goddess.

I say manga wins the first two.... ties in third.

DC has God, and awhole pantheon of beings that determine what is and is not reality.

Marvel has the same...has over 10 devices to allow one to destroy existence.

And who knows what Image has.

So yes Manga has more...but when you have over 200 being who determine what exists and doesn't by scratching your name out of a book(one that really doesn't exist and is only there to amuse mortals to beliving they have any say) it really comes down to my god is better than your god.

In the end I give it to comics because they constantly create beings who can level galaxies in the blink of an eye all for the return of the Silver Age.

Manga has the same thing. People and Gods that create universes, decide who gets born and such, what exists, same thing.

Image/Wildstorm has the Doctor, who in one incarnation was able to carry on a conversation while having the shit beaten out of him in the Sun by a solar-powered SPB. In the middle of a fight with 6 of the most dangerous metahumans on the planet, he went back in time to molest one of them while they were a teenager.

There have been a lot of gundam mangas. Mecha ranging from the basic Zaku (me!) to the massive Nightingale can be found in gundam manga.

Actually unless the Godesses have literally erased existence and somehow recreated to suit their fancy time and time again...I would dispute that(comics are truly amazing and stupifying in what the think reality and the universe is.)

Apparently I can have devices that can create infinite anount of matter and energy...and they are made on Earth...The Cosmic Cube...sorry given that Marvel can make an infinite amount of these...and each grant godlike abilities to the wielder...it's not that good for Manga.

Sorry to dissapoint you... but the comsic cube has limits.... and all these beings from marvel have one drawback... even TLT didn't create the universe he existes in. L-sama has created full universes, so has Akira.
