HL2:Aftermath TBR April 24

Post by Mr Bean »

Bitech has the goods.
Valve's Gabe Newell has finally stumped up the firm's estaimted release date for Half Life 2: Aftermath.

According to reports, the date is April 24, a Monday. This will be bad news for anyone planning to get any work done for the rest of the week.

The game will cost a thoroughly reasonable $19.99, through Valve's Steam game delivery service. This equates to just over a tenner in real money. Could this be the best-value expansion pack of all time? The game will also hit retail through Valve's new publishing partner, EA. Expect it to hit English physical shelves on the following Friday.

Having sat and played HL2 non-stop upon its release at the end of 2004, we're absolutely dying to get our hands on this new update. The game will allegedly carry on from the cliff-hanger ending of the main title, with Gordon being pulled out of a dangerous situation by G-man, as Alyx remained in mortal peril. She will be joining Gordon for a romp through the expansion, so we presume she doesn't cop it.
April can't come to soon. More HL2 goodness and with all the snazzy new effects we've been seeing in other new source mods are to be inculded with Aftermath. Which means shinny pretty gameplay and hopefuly we finaly get to learn what the hell happened to everyone after HL2... and why the Gman sounds so pissed in the trialers.

I'm also guessing this will include the Source Update such as color tweaking, film grain, motion blur, depth of field and other awesome things.

Now all that remains is to convince that this is not a scam or attempt to steal their credit card numbers....
I'm going to need your help on this Ace  .
Awesome news, beware the omnipotent wrath of the G-man vs the one Free man :D

You understand that if you live life thinking that everyone is trying to scam your credit card, you shouldn't be carrying around plastic cards.
Also note that most credit cards have FANTASTIC fraud protection, whereas debit cards might not be quite as efficient.

Fun-facts, Tinfoil to some extent concentrats radio and mind control rays. It always amuses me to see the tin-foil nuts who happly wrap the bunny ears in tinfoil to increase reception yet belive the tin keeps the goverment mind-control rays out. I mean come on, even if it did work that way it do nothing for the subliminal messages we beam through your TV and radio commercials.

I don't my parents do, and concerning the internet, they only use it on amazon (on the internet that it, not off-line), although my dad's card does have excellent anti-fraud (I/We triggered it a few times with purchases of a few hundred pounds each time we're in a big book store in London), he still doesn't trust it and thinks that the game might be a scam  .
I'll try to show him the game, press release etc..., and maybe I'll manage to convince him this time if I have an independent witness [Ace or Faqa] and not people on a website [no offense to you guys  ].

Haha, yes, well, not many companies make money by acting as charities. You probably read about Lost Coast rather than this, actual expansion pack.

I shall certainly have to get more RAM and a decent GPU for this.

Oh my, I bet Space Empires V comes out about then too. Maybe a bit later. Also on Steam, of course, but not exclusively.

FYI for anyone who wants to aquire SE4, it'll be available on Steam starting Feb. 7.

So...maybe by May the package deal on HL2, the expansion, and DoD will be worth the money to me. I'm not exactly an early buyer.
