It looks like these are normal people that they are asking these questions. Of course they aren't gonna fucking know stuff that scientists do. Hell, some of these questions are absolutely retarded. GAH!

My thoughts exactly. These aren't experts in the slightest sense. I might as well find some dumb fuck on the street and question them about Christianity to show how stupid it is.

Or possibly removing the science from science since the 19th century.

I pointed this out on the ravingatheist forums. It really made me sick. And they don't try very hard to find actual scientists, do they? How honest of them.

I managed to whatch it all the way through and plan to re-whatch it.

It helps with my meditation. Normally I can't blank my mind but once this starts up my whole mind shuts down. Nouthing gets in or out, there is no thoughts...

Well other than Jesus telling me over and over in regards to the video "Don't you believe it!"

I watched a minute or two of that, and I couldn't take that shit anymore. Don't you just love how they told you to look for key words like "probably" and "maybe" that supposedly prove that evolutionists don't know what they're talking about, and then go on to interview a bunch of fucking teenagers and young people? Why not actual scientists? What a bunch of fucking bullshit.

So, they go out and ask random people on the street? Yeah, that's honest.

I could get the same results by talking to random Christians on the street.

Nope, not him. Screech was played by Dustin Diamond.

Here's the link to him IMDb file, as to avoid further confusion.

HELL no! Dustin Diamond is pretty damn cool now, actually (and not bad-looking, either). He's doing stand-up comedy, plays bass in a band, and has a side gig as a professional wrestler for an independent company in Wisconsin.

Kirk Cameron is just a dick.

I love the fact that, right from the start, they admit that the people they're talking to won't be experts.

I mean, seriously.

That's what you get when you mix American democratic populist sentiments with religious injunctions against knowledge and learning.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

The sad thing is that this is precisely the way IDers think. They believe that scientists are all "close-minded" and that you should basically ignore them in favour of the "common sense" of "regular folks".

Which is really ironic when you look at how much science has grown, evolved and developed in the past few hundred years, then compare that to how many religions have been static an closed minded in the same time period

I can't really decide whether or not it's a gift or a curse that I have a difficult time watching people embarass themselves. However, it does mean I have a very difficult time watching much of this.

Also, I think I might believe Kirk when he tells us that they didn't use a script for this thing, as it certainly doesn't sound like they were using one.

Wow--I learn new stuff every day.

There is no fossil record of earlier hominids. Only a chimp, then suddenly man! ...Oh wait....

Still bringing up 'Nebraska Man' and 'Piltdown Man' I see---nope, no deception there...

Had trouble telling Kirk and the orangutang apart during the facial expression scene...

Airlines don’t recognize orangutans as humans--ergo, we must not be related...

Hmmm...slamming 19th century scientists for their misogyny as proof that they were wrong about how they view the world as opposed to the Bible that has none of that...oh wait...

The 'Evidence Bible' will protect me from getting upset when I see articles about evolution in the news...

Oh joy...

The double standards they apply are honestly laughable. They attack Darwin (being somehow unable to separate the man from the theory) for his misogyny, while completely ignoring the misogyny rampant in the bible.

They blatantly ignore the unlikelihood of fossil formation in the first place, so they can support their 'we've never found a transitional form' BS. Of course, the fact that such forms have been found is detrimental to their argument, and they gloss over that, too.

I'm still trying to piece together what they think the point they made in the orangutan segements is.

But yes, they're insane, and it's not just that episode. Just to see if they were that stupid on average (and yes, they are), I looked at another episode (the atheism episode which I could not sit through the entirety of), and these people honestly do not seem to realize that living and non living things are not directly comparable, and attempting to apply the exact same standards to them just doesn't work.

They're also big on leaps in logic. From the atheism episode, they use the analogy that 'paintings have a painter, and so does creation have a creator' Even presuming that that's true and existence isn't eternal, what's to say it's the christian god? Maybe it's Vishnu, or the Teutonics.

What really gets me, though, is their claim that 'Evolution is unscientific' (just as unjustified as everything else they mention in the episode), as if Chrisitanity and Creationism somehow were.

It's arrogance, on a stupendous level. I'm amazed at how many people I run into on the Internet who think they're qualified to discuss what is and isn't scientific even though they've never gone past grade 10 science.

So after his "thorough" debunking of evolution, you know that's even harder to type then to say. I wonder what Kirk will do next, I'm hoping he becomes the spokesman to ban dihydrogen monoxide form our drinking water. It seems his skills and knowledge of science make him a perfect candidate.
