it's not about being free or not it's just that I don't want to register to anything if I don't have plus I found one already, still takes over an Hour but it's way better then the 33h that other server did have.LongVin wrote:Fileplanet is free you have to register but its free and more importantly its fast.Lord Revan wrote:Is there there a DL site doesn't take over an day and doesn't need membership to be used (and is legal of course)

Bothan spies have aquired the following....
(1) Building units and moving fleets have been sped up for the demo, in the retail version it takes longer to create units and move fleets.
(2) Read the readme, there are camera controls to rotate and move the camera in both ground and space battles as well as in the cinimatic view
(3) The AI is extreamly dumbed down for the demo so you can learn to use the units shown without coming under heavy attack. In the full version its much much smarter.
(4) The demo was made from a build in December so things will have been tweaked and changed in the final version.
Hope this will help when you write your reviews and offer suggestions to the developers
Please post reviews in the demo review section so the dev's can read it.

thanks, but I've already downloaded and finished the demo and I got to say that it's looking good. only thing I hope is that they would realize how stupid the naval trooper uniform looks on ground troopersggs wrote:linkyLord Revan wrote:Is there there a DL site doesn't take over an day and doesn't need membership to be used (and is legal of course)

Personally, if SW: Rebellion had the galaxy interface, build interface, and space combat of Empire at War, it would have been kick ass as opposed to a flawed gem. It's disappointing that there's no Executor-class ships in EaW (as far as I know, anyway).

There isn't, but that's because the game is set between Episode III and IV.Vympel wrote:Personally, if SW: Rebellion had the galaxy interface, build interface, and space combat of Empire at War, it would have been kick ass as opposed to a flawed gem. Yeah, that's what I thought. Personally, I don't understand why the Venator was removed (if you're correct, do you have confirmation of this?) if you're going to have the Acclamator as an Imperial ship, which makes perfect sense as far as I'm concerned and has EU support from the comics I've seen recently, I don't see why the Venator in Imperial paint-job as seen at the end of RotS isn't either. It was the Republic paint job and apparent Rebel allegiance that threw me.Kamakazie Sith wrote: There isn't, but that's because the game is set between Episode III and IV.
Would've been nice if they tossed in some Mandators instead

That's lame. He's going to climb up an AT-ATs legs, somehow open the hatch to get inside, overcome the squad of stormtroopers, and pilot the thing? Jeez, the only reason it happened in RotJ was because an AT-ST crew was too stupid to realize there was no reason to open their hatch.navy_seal55 wrote:Chewie is awesome I took over the AT-AT with him

In the game rebels get technology by stealing from the imperials, perhaps later in the game the blueprints for the venator are stolen and they gave a republic paint job to show its not imperial.Vympel wrote:Yeah, that's what I thought. or perhaps the ships are "liberated" from the empire (and possibly given the republic piant job)Zac Naloen wrote:In the game rebels get technology by stealing from the imperials, perhaps later in the game the blueprints for the venator are stolen and they gave a republic paint job to show its not imperial.Vympel wrote:Yeah, that's what I thought. Well, I'm sure we can all agree that the models and effects in all modes are poor. When a free mod like Warlords has better models, your game sucks.
It's a little disappointing that they've fudged a setting: I mean, saying the rebels can churn out CRVs and FFs then go up against Acclamators and Victories is silly. The space battles are okay (aside from the 'torps penetrate shield' sillyness) but the AI isn't just bad, it's utterly crap. When attacked, move all your heavy caps behind the station! I agree, however, that the interface is nice and if it had Rebellion-level complexity, it'd be quite cool. If they took out the horrible converted-liners-killing-Executors thing Rebellion had, of course. The paper-scissors-stone thing isn't too obvious, but still irksome.
And the ground combat... well. It's not good. Tiny maps, crap orbital bombardment, ridiculous invincible heroes (in that they come back afterward, even if they're killed) and again, really bad effects. Even Force Commander had better blaster effects. Turbolaser towers on Tatooine?

Stark some of the bad things you listed were on my post as specifically demo.
Also, you have to remember that this is an RTS. Where enough soldiers with rifles can destroy tanks given enough time.
Looks like you dislike RTS games in general.....
Also, does anyone have a link to warlords?

The tutorial so far is so boring I'm just slugging through, the ground combat so far was so unintresting I tried activating cinematic mode, but it felt like someone had no idea what Zoom was used for. Space...I can't even pinpoint what but it just plays wrong.
Maybe this is all problems of the demo, but so far it sucks ass.
The strategical aspects however are very nice.

Who needs to wait for a flawed version when you can have both the OT and the PT ships at your command!
