SD.Net Warmachine Campaign

Post by GuppyShark »

In the tradition of threads like this I'm accepting interested parties for unit leader positions in an upcoming campaign of Warmachine.

I will be commanding the armed forces of the Protectorate of Menoth, the religious faction (think 40k IoM).

The undead Cryx, poncy Cygnar and brutal Khador stand against me. Can I count on you, loyal SDnet member, to aid me as I crush all opposition?

I look forward to bringing you news of the unfolding struggle as it occurs...

The detachments fielded:

High Exemplar Kreoss

Complete Detachment Army List

The High Exemplar takes to the field with a complement of Knights and 'vanilla' Warjacks. He will largely be taking to the field against the forces of King Leto of Cygnar.

Available Officers:

2 Exemplar Knight Warders (centre) (Lazarus& Pcm 9:79)

Image
Holy Zealot Priest (foreground right)

Image
2 Choir of Menoth Warpriests (Wee Mad Ando & Ford Prefect)

High Allegiant Amon Ad-Raza

Complete Detachment Army List

The High Allegiant accepts into his detachment those willing to endure great personal risks for the benefit of others. He stands between the invading armies of Khador and the safety of the Iron Kingdoms.

Available Officers:

Noble Ire, Paladin of the Order of the Wall

Deliverer Captain (Roan, 3rd from left)

Holy Zealot Warpriest (pictured above)

Choir of Menoth Warpriest (pictured above)

Feora, Priestess of the Flame

Complete Detachment Army List

Finally, Feora, who is tasked with cleansing the undead from the northernmost reaches - with flame! To this end she has been provided her Flameguard and some of the more expensive Warjacks.

You're asking Stardestroyer/Net members to join forces with the cause of religious fundamentalism? :wtf:

You don't know us very well, do you?

There's an SD.Net U-boat... burning the Undead doesn't really compare.

I played Warmachine for about 4 weeks during the summer, in the last days of my battlegame playing before I packed it in in september, 2 years almost to the week since I started 40K. I'd really like to keep playing, but all the people I used to play gave up, or moved elsewhere and it just became monotonous, playing the same people over and over. I still love the 40K universe though. I started Warmachine after a new independent retailer opened near me, started by staff having jumped ship from the local GW, but I only ever bought the main game book and a Khador starter set, then realising that pretty much everyone played Khador. :?
What exactly do you mean by unit leader positions? Does that mean we get squad leaders named for us and stuff or what?

Well I play menoth, and I am an atheist. Being an atheist only makes sense if there is no evidence for a god, in the warmachine world there is.

That's it exactly, just like the thread examples I gave in the first few posts.

I've had some damned amusing battles recently, and the campaign is probably going to start next week.

Eh, bollocks. I was even thinking about nabbing the Order of the Wall. 'Course, I've no idea what this game is or how to play it, so perhaps it's just as well I stay out.

Sounds good, can I be the Exemplar Knights captain?
Aww I wanted the order of the wall... If I remember the background rightly, the OOTW were like the only chivalrous knights left in Menoth, the rest were crazy ass loons. Ah well.
What, No Warjacks?!?! Interesting...
I always liked the Menoth Warjack with the two flags on the back, that one was cool.

I figured people would want to be people, not magical automatons! You can be a Warjack if you insist, I guess.

Campaign Update:

Had a preliminary battle last night, Feora's detachment versus Cryxian undead. Unfortunately...
  • Nobody has signed up for her detachment.
Nokia PC Suite isn't communicating through my USB so I can't upload the photos I took.
Game ended in Cryxian retreat.

Varies at the whim of the attacker, it can be anywhere from 500 to 1000. The Detachments are 750 points as you can see from the roster lists (which may change over the course of the campaign, for example I'm thinking of taking the Guardian (which I'm happy to call the Lazarus, btw) and moving it into a different detachment. It's ability to make troops automatically rally seems redundant when Feora already does it for Flameguard units under her command.
