Your favorite music...to kill to

Post by Captain tycho »

What music gets your blood pumping, the adrenaline flowing, and your hands moving for gaming, driving, or well, any other activity. Not necessarily with killing, of course.

Not necessarily my /favorite/, but it was almost creepy (and quite awesome) timing... Was playing WoW, right at the tail end of Molten Core, and we were going for a Ragnaros attempt. Had never killed him as a group before. So we go in, start the fight...and Winamp, in its infinite wisdom, starts to play the Final Fantasy VII boss battle theme. Was so very, very beautiful.

EDIT: Of course we were horribly, horribly mauled. Wasn't quite perfect, that woulda been if it happened on our first KILL.

"March of the Cambrians" -- Pheonix

~Axes flash, broadswords swing
Shining arrows piercing rain.
Horses run with polished shield
Fight those Bastards til they yield!
Midnight mare and blood-red roan
Fight to kep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry--
How many of them can we make die!~

 It helps that the song has the pounding rhythm of a army on the move. Nitram and I often wind up on our feet sing/shouting the lyrics

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

The soundtracks from Hearts of Iron I & 2. Battle at Poltava is a particular favorite.

Total Annihilation soundtrack

Juno Reactor has a lot of good fight music.

Lots of AC/DC. TNT, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and Thunderstruck are favorites.

There is no such song, the one you are refering to is called "Chop Suey!"

I wish to add:
"Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen
"1812 Overture" by Tchaikovsky
"Eat the Rich" by Aerosmith
"Animals" by Nickleback (It's a song about sex, but I'm engaging in a orgy of death and destruction, so it fits)

Yep. It's like what if someone made a fantasy story with a sci-fi basis.

Yes, and a very good one, with both scifi and fantasy elements and some good Roman-style combat towards the end.

Since I play way too much Jedi Academy and Battlefront, my favorite killing-shit music are the various battle themes taken from Star Wars.
