Manga vs Comic Thread 2

Ok, new idea...

The top 3 best selling series from each side battle it out...

Series implies name in title, like Superman, Spiderman, X-men etc.

I don't know the stats, but I think it will clear up the "mainstream" problem emerging in the other debates. Oh, and where the hell would I go to find the world wide sales stats for comics?

Now it's Manga's turn to get screwed. With only three titles, there's a good probability that two of the three would be "normal" romance, sports, drama etc. Manga, without any uber characters (Mason Ikkoku, Urusai Yatsura etc.) Then, there's the problem of FINDING the three most popular Manga series.

Unfortunately it didn't say if it was US only. I think it might be though. I don't remember if Diamond distributes outside the US.

If it's world, then the top comics are Batman, Transformers, and X-men. Though the X-men title is number 4, Transformers has two titles as 2 and 3 and I'm only counting it as one.

That says October though.

Vs Batman, Transformers, and X-men

Oh and two other mange people as backup but DBZ has been number one, largley in part due to Korean and US sales for some years now

I think Neon Gensis is 2 but don't quote me on that(That or one of the Gundum Series)

No idea on who number 3 is
