Outrageous Warsie claims

Post by Gandalf »

These are just as bad, if not worse than some bad Trek claims we've seen, thought you could all use a laugh, also, sorry if some of these are true, I havent read much of the EU.

- Some nut decided to destroy the universe so the force intervened & stopped him, so much so that no-one rembered him, and heres the kicker, it was MIDICHLORIANS that did it.

- Yoda once defeated "lots" of ISD's in battle by pushing them together with the force

- A Jedi Padawan in a X-Wing could wipe the floor with the combined fleets of the AQ

- The 1st Jedi was a midichlorian (I asked didnt this give him a midichlorian count of one, he told me to shut up.)

There are a few more but I can't remember what they were, it was a long time ago and this only just occured to me.

Ah... first Jedi was a midichlorian?

Umm...

I thought we didn't talk about midichlorians. Like the retarded cousin at the family reunion, we just pretend that they're not there.

Anyway, those are some pretty stupid claims. You'd need at LEAST a full squadron of Jedi in X-wings to defeat the combined AQ forces... :D

It was 16 ISDs pushed away by a bunch of Jedi (albiet the one who combined their power ended up extra crispy).

Would you please verify these claims first before just shouting them off to the board. You look like an idiot.

I see this thread being a Troll magnet.

Threads of this nature are pointless, like the posts where people whine are trekkies pullnig the old immune to lasers idiocy however since this is the bulk of what clogs up the board recently I dont suppose much can be done about it.

I find the term "Warsie" offensive. I prefer the term "Warser."

Don't Hornets have Turbocharged lasers which are mini-TLs? (Of course, after you fire them a few times, they go boom).

According to the Vechicle guide, if you fire them contantly they explode. After a few shots they may be damaged, not destroyed.

I may have forgot to put this in the original post, these were some of the claims spouted by a friend of mine during the days when we had old ST vs SW debates, (None of of had much resources like ICS). That and I've seen lots of "Look what this Trekkie says" threads.

I really don't see why Warsies need to make baseless, outrageous claims, since they have the advantage in the debate.

I wouldn't consider an ISD, or even an Acclamator taking out half the Federation Starfleet absurd, but I would find a few starfighters doing the same thing so.

A trekie i know once told me just one Defiant could kill 10 ISD's. He said that in a DS9 mirror universe episode they rebels build the defiant and killed a klingon fleet but skimming close to the hull and picking off Turbo laser turrets. I went with him to his house and admitted that that would be a wise tatic IF the Defiant could get past the shields to get that close. I asked him what the 60 TIE squadrons would be doing during this and he couldn't reply. while i had him on the back foot i pointed out that even if all the TIES were sitting doing nothing, maybe enjoying the benefits of wanking in zero gee or something, One hit in return from the ISD and the Defiant would die.

Something I remember seeing that was complete bullshit was 'A TIE can destroy a Galaxy class' I think the Galaxy was the Enterprise-D, but his figuring was this, simply put...I can't remember the exact qoute

'Well, since turbolaser fire caused the Millenium Falcon to shake, and TIE fire caused the Millenium Falcon to shake then they must have the same fire power and therefore a TIE could easily destroy the E-D.'

*twitch* His 'logic' was painful...painful indeed.

isn't at least the feddies immune to lasers? (light based)
i forget...i think the first season the ep. Outragous Okana the two under powered warships were threatening picard that they would fire and they said that the lasers wouldn't even pass the navigational defelectors...now i know that this is cannon but i'm sure someone will firnd a flaw with my logic...it always happens... :?

You said it yourself: Two underpowered warships firing lasers. Picard was commenting on the alien's ability to penetrate the ship's deflector. "Won't penetrate" doesn't mean immune. I could say that a bullet fired from a gun wouldn't penetrate the shield... but that doesn't mean 1e12 bullets couldn't.

Note that the borg cutting beam is "some kind of laser", yet it seems to work just fine.

Hardly surprising considering that the E-D shields were down each time.
