Music (Theory, that is), Engineering, Math, Physics. I could also include a bit of Poli-Sci in there, but I was never formally taught (my house is an open forum, and I've had a few guests to talk to that have really helped me understand certain...things...in diplomacy that have helped me an inordinate amount in personal thinkgs...)

Of the ones given, math is my best subject. But how can things like music be considered "academic" if fields like economics are not?

English Literature/ World Literature / Classic Literature (I guess "other" on your poll).
I have concentrations in the areas of early american (Emerson, Dickinson, etc), British Poetry (both modern and non), and I have studied Classic to a wide extent on my own time. Other interests of mine are the British novel, American short stories, and Anglo-saxon texts.

Calling myself learned would be little presumptious, though I'm a sophmore pursuing degrees in History and Political Science.
Many thanks! These darned computers always screw me up. I calculated my first death-toll using a hand-cranked adding machine (we actually calculated the average mortality in each city block individually). Ah, those were the days.

I don't think it really counts as academically learned, but I have done a lot of reading on military history. I'm only a sophomore in High School, but I've read The Encyclopedia of Military History, and other such books multiple times, and tried to study it. That and Education will be my specialties in college.

Ancient Civilizations...is that a type of anthropology course, or is that more history related?
I am not profound in anything, as for the OP--yet, but I am working on my History/teaching degree and absorbing all I can get. I was thinking about doing a double major and doing anthropology too, but I am not sure if it is worth it.

I voted Physics, but only because there's no Computer Science option in the poll.
It's difficult to compare my South African education with US or UK standards, because all three seem quite dissimilar. But I did take Physics (with Electronics) and Computer Science as my two requisite majors in 3rd year 'varsity, for my Bachelors Degree. For my Honours degree (another year of study), which I am told is the equivalent of the standard British single-major exam, I took Computer Science.

Engineering, obviously. But it would have been easier to split up the poll by categories rather than specific subjects, like "technical", "scientific", and "liberal arts". Too many people complaining that their subject wasn't represented in the poll.

One could say I'm "learned" in architecture, but that by the its very nature is a highly generalized field, comprised of a good bit of art, a small bit of engineering, a good bit of history, a little bit of environmental science, and so forth, alongside its specialized theory and practice. So I cast an "other" in the poll.
