Depends on how you look at it. The Empire got rid of most Acc's, and they're better than most of what the CIS puts out. I would say CIS ships are not so much outdated as simply of lower quality in the first place. That doesn't make them uesless, but it certainly reduces their usefulness.

I don't think the Empire got rid of Acclamators and other older vehicles that easily, there's certainly been more than enough recent OT-sources showcasing them (SW:Empire, EaW, Coruscant and the Core Worlds etc.) to suggest they were melted down like the ROTS:VD claimed.
But, alot of older material ended up in outlying garrisons and armies, like the Juggernauts, so there was a gradual shift as comparatively better models were developed.

Then again, in a few years we'll probably have Rebel Recuscants and Munificents running about thanks to the almighty retcon and never-before-seen stories in a completely different part of the galaxy... :P

Good point... a lot of them are converted cargo carriers and communication ships. Many retrofitted CIS warship types are probably just not as good as dedicated combat designs.

The almighty retcon indeed! You're probably right, and it will be interesting to see ex-CIS Rebel ships :D

The reason Alderaan scrapped their fleet was to look less threatening to the Emperor, while opposing him at every turn politically. Also, with a fleet the Emperor could say that Alderaan was planning on using it to secede from, or attack the Empire. But if they don't have a fleet the Emperor can't paint them as a military threat that needs to be crushed.

The Bulwark Battlecruisers we see the Alliance use in the PC game Rebellion has been recently retconned. It was originally designed and operated by the Separatists as a type of "Super" battleship. The Republic subsequently commissioned the Victory Star Destroyer in order to counter this threat.

Were the Bulwarks those *retarded* ships at the end of the Rebel tree that could fight Executors? Ugh, the stupidity.

Yes, and I agree, though I never used them as the Rebels. The Liberator was everything you ever needed. Overall, the rebels were much too easy to play in that game. But hey, you can mod it to your satisfaction.

Weren't most CIS ships designed to be operated exclusively by droids with maybe a small organic complement? I doubt the Rebels had the resources to convert already-obsolete drone ships cost effectively.

I liked the Liberator myself. Fighter capacity of a escort carrier, almost shielding and turbolasers of Calimari and cheaper to boot. What a deal!

You'd think the smaller organic crew needs would appeal to the rebels. Hell, they stripped down ancient Dreadnaught classes into 'Assualt Frigates' that used a substancially smaller crew.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

The larger droid requirements may require more industrial support in the realm of spare parts and their equivalent of POL. Something that may be more expensive to purchase on the black market, or a large purchase may be more noticable to Imperial Intelligence.

well........ the Rebels do have one disadvantage, the lack of "trained" jedi in the begining.....

That can make capturing the Emperor or Vader a bit of a hassle sometimes. I once had to convert and capture every single habitated planet in the galaxy, combing through multiple sectors and capturing Imperial hideouts in the Outer Rim before I finally captured Vader when my team of diplomats converted this dinky planet over to the Alliance. And all this because while Luke was capable of capturing the Emperor at Coruscant, he failed to capture Vader at Sluis Van.
