The Shadows, at least that's my best guess. It wasn't me, I wouldn't be fighting for second-to-last place if I'd conquered them.Dalton wrote:WTF just happened to the Markab?

Unless Kijiro got power hungry I'm pretty sure he didn't want to erase the Markab.
To capture a planet you need to set your fleet strategy to "capture planet". You also need to set the individual troop transport's strategy to "capture planet". Also the "capture planet" strategy should be set to break formation for all types. I think trying in the simulator will iron out all the kinks and make sure you don't accidently glass the planet.
Unless the Shadows just wanted to kill someone for the hell of it .
<edit>Whops Guppy's the shadow player. I guess Kijiro might annihilate another neutral YR himself to balance it out lol.</edit>

Does anybody know how to make a jump gate work? No, I haven't built one in our game (that would be impressive), but I'm doing a one player game to try and familarize myself with the Centauri tech tree and I can't design a working jump gate.
The jump gate vehicle is 5001kt, the jump gate component is 4995kt, and there's no room for the number of engines needed to give it a movement point. It won't make a warp point without any movement points. I've tried the swift ship and agile ship components and those don't give it movement, either.

That might be, but the game is telling me that it won't open a warp point because the gate has no movement, not because it's on a planet.
The annoying thing is that I remember making jump gates that had movement points (okay, one movement point) in previous games, but it's been so long that I forgot what I did.

Are there emergency propulsion components in the B5 mod?

BrianI changed my email address on SD.net last night - didn't know that deactivates your account until they verify your new address! I'll only be contactible via email until it's back up.

I think we've all discovered each other, even if we don't know the exact location of everybody's territory. I'd be okay with you posting it.Nephtys wrote:I now have an empire map set up (since nobody sent me a fragment, I made it with the help of the Anla'shok).
Should I post it? Or leave it as a secret and allow people to discover each other on their own?

Not a good idea to lie about the Shadows...Uraniun wrote: Also, forward copies of the transmissions preceding the battle last week, explaining how we warned off their vessel well in advance, and that the scout wilfully attempted to violate Earth space despite our advance warnings.
Turn 1: Receive message from Earthers, "GTFO"
Turn 2: Three EA warships ambush Scout at the jumpgate as it leaves, turns it into debris.

Who are the "Narm"? Is that a spin on Bruce Boxleitner's "Nyarn" problem? (B5 has some awesome bloopers) Is it a bizarre compulsion to see the Narn suffer the same ignominy that the Mimbari often have?
Otherwise very nicely done.
But seriously, I'm sorry, I forgot to take into account the turn delay.
