At that point, then, parsimony takes over, and, so
no; the Sun Crusher will be unable to pass through a Death Star unharmed, let alone get through the shields.
As dragon said, in the last JA book, the Sun Crusher fires a torpedo at the prototype DS, which has only skeletal superstructure. The torpedo fizzled out because there wasn't enough material present to sustain the reaction, however in a fully completed DS there would be much more mass available, and perhaps the reaction could be sustained. Either way, the torpedo took out a considerable portion of the prototype DS superstructure, so a few more into a completed DS would surely cause severe damage, if not destroy it. Even if it was immobilised with a tractor beam, it can still fire its weapon.
Of course, you have to
get through the shields first, and since we don't know the energy output of the Sun Crusher's torpedo, we can't tell how much damage it'll do to shields. It's some sort of chain reaction, so it would make sense the torpedo only carries enough energy to initiate the reaction; and since the reaction requires mass, it's safe enough to say that its mechanism won't be effective at all against shielded targets.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
