Orange Lightsaber?

Post by SVPD »

Is there anyone in the SW universe anywhere with an orange lightsaber?

Define 'anywhere'. You could make lightsabres orange in KOTOR but if you're asking for 'anywhere that can actually be taken seriously' I have no friggin' clue.

There may be one in NJO; I haven't read those books. So far, excluding the games, lightsabre colors in EU have been: green, blue, yellow, greenish-silver (Corran Horn and his ancestor Nejaa Halycon, iirc), and possibly purple, as well as the classic Sith red.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

No, i'm almost %100 sure no one had one in the Star Wars universe but a while ago I thought up one, since then I haven't seen them anywhere except KOTOR and I'm writing a book with one. Now with kiddy stuff you see today the lightsabers supposidly have colored crystals, but according to most guides the crystals are as ordinary as the ones we see today.

How could a crystal which apparently produces an energy blade of arbitrary length be as ordinary as the ones we see today? Admittedly, I'm no great lightsabre expert, but IIRC, the blades are caused by the crystals.

A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

according to the Essential Chronology, the very old republic jedi (KOTOR era) hade blades of all sorts of colors. IIRC, all the current jedi's crystals come from Ilum.

There was a bloke with one in the Star Wars: Tales from the New Republic Anthology. The story was called "The Last Hand" by Paul Danner and feature the most famous gambler ever, who also was force-sensitive. And I really can't beleive I just had to type that...

That actually makes some sense. A Force-user would have a natural talent for gambling (reading emotions and precog), and I recall one of the Jedi who survived the purge (from one of the Republic comics I believe) looked to become a gambler to survive in hiding.

Ok maybe not as ordinary but there pretty darn similar looking if anyone has read the complete guide to the original trilogy you will see in Vader's Ben's and Luke's sabers they all have clear crystals not red, green, or blue.

In Episode I Qui-Gon cheated to win the toss. I'm suprised that's not against the code but then again they didn't think a Jedi was going to gamble.

Though, now that you mention it, it's not a matter of 'possibly' because Mace's been in a fair number of PT-era novels, and of course those are EU... so yeah, purple is a definitely confirmed color for lightsabres in EU. Whether you want 'cyan' is another matter. :P

Similar-looking is hardly indicative of ordinary. This should not be hard to grasp; Star Wars metal looks like steel and aluminum, but it's much more dense.

I was subtly pointing out the fact your English is hardly coherent. Are you not a native English speaker, or are you just too damned lazy to put some effort into your posts' punctuation and grammar?

I recall orange lightsabers have been seen in comics. Can't remember where, though...

It might have been I, Jedi. The five force-users who attacked Corran and Luke all had different colored lightsabers, I think they were blue, green, orange, purple, and yellow.

I thought they had everything except green, when luke showed up Corran said it made a spectrum.

Of course, I could be wrong.

In I, Jedi, Corran is using a silver/white blade and Luke had his green lightsaber. Also, in the scene where the five Dark Side adepts (I forget what they called themselves) attacked Corran, they announce their presence by ignighting s red, blue, yellow, orange, and purple lightsabers. After Luke shows up, Corran mutters some wiseass comment to the effect of "Taste the rainbow."

It's stated in Ep I that Qui-Gon doesn't follow the Code very closely, which is why he wasn't on the Jedi Council.

And it seems that they don't have to even be bound to those colors. Lowbacca had a silver lightsaber, I believe.

The comment was Great, now we've got the whole rainbow represented.

And the one weilding the orange lightsaber was a Rodian.
