A thought about the current poll on the main site...

It's all about evil right? Well, it occurs to me, that the Borg and the Shadows aren't evil at all...

Both believe what they're doing is for the benefit of everyone. They see themselves as a helping hand, rather than evil. Ok, completely misguided and wrong in their actions, but not evil, certainly not Palpatine-type evil.

And could someone tell me who Martha Stewart is??? :?:

Palpatine was attempting to save the galaxy from its self. Something that pretty clearly needed to happen. Though much evil starts with good intentions.

Palpatine wasn't in it for the good of the people. He wanted power and manuvered the masses to get it. That he struck the death blow of a bloated dying Republic and replaced it with the functional and stable Empire is incidental. It was a power play not a idealistic act.
