What religion are you?
This seemed like an appropriate forum for this question, but if not feel free to move it.
I'm curious what the religious profile of this web site is. I get the impression there are a lot of atheists and/or agnostics here, and that religious belief is held in low regard overall, but I may be mistaken.
This is not meant to be the start of a theism vs. atheism/agnosticism debate, so please none of that. Just post your denomination, or belief system, in this thread.
I'll start, the best way to describe me would be Gnostic Christian.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal. -Tanasinn

Of course, the ideal way to handle this would have been to set up a poll.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Don't even care whether god/s exist or not. Figure it's not important. I guess you could call it a kind of atheism.

"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

Right now, . . . . "Psuedo-Christian". Basically that means that the important aspects (Jesus as the salvation of man) I can believe, but other aspects (literal 6 day creation, World Flood, God actually telling the Hebrews to conquer nations, . . when it was just them being combative with practically everyone they met) I can believe were thrown in there by the writer and cannonized as doctrine, but don't signify an actual literal event, or 'decree from God'.

Seriously; atheist by choice, apatheist by upbringing, and generic Christian by culture/extended-family.

Re: What religion are you?
We have one of these every two months, it seems. In any case, my answer is the same as it was last time: I am an explicit atheist, which is to say that I actively reject belief in gods, angels, fairies, demons, devils, several types of garden gnomes, and other such supernatural entities.Jason wrote:This seemed like an appropriate forum for this question, but if not feel free to move it.

Fairly apathetic. As far as any religion goes, you could say I'm a Coist (ask if you want more info). Brought up Southern Baptist; been spending the past year and a half more or less actively rooting that out and exterminating it with vigour... fundamentalism is not something I appreciate, now that I know more about it.
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.
Agnostic liberal Catholic.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
