Just out of curiosity, what's the maintainance cost of those monsters?

13k/2.4k/4.5k.

<edit>FYI Trog, without those fusion cubes I would have lost around 50-60 battlecruisers in the sims at least.</edit>

You'd still outnumber me by a ton, though.

And I have to RP my people more, Nephtys made me look like an ass, but I guess that's privilage of the aggressor or something.

Hahaha, the first half of the RP was mine.

It's revenge for killing Baxter and Daisy hahaha.

I half didn't want to do it because RPing other people's characters is lame, but I won't do it anymore lol.

And besides Primus should have been executed .

That's Baxter and Alice, not Baxter and Daisy, but I can see how you'd be burning with rage over their deaths. :P

Just for the record, I knew about the double minefield in Alpha Onias, I just figured that not even the AI would be stupid enough to chase your fleet into them. Looks like I was wrong.

I know you were. It's Zargat talking, not me. But the ships still went there and they were still blown apart .

You marked it as a minefield with alt-M and they still went there? Bugger.

<edit>GG Trogdor, despite what Zargat thinks you really were a worthy opponent :D. You were first place for a really long time and even outproduced me when I have a 20% trade, and 20% mineral, organic and rad bonus being a Ferengi. It took my entire fleet to stop those KF's and you wiped out whole Borg armadas with your designs. And I liked your RP too.

I hope you hang around, to RP if nothing else, they were fun. And Kirk's still got fight left in him, at least I hope so... there's 14 ships in the Dominion now, a few of your KF's too.

Oh by the way... how many KF's did you give Martok? :D.</edit>

<edit 2>If you want maybe Tux could let you take control of the Tholians too... if Primus is finished. Since you're the first one "knocked out"... I'm not sure whether you could play both though, you'd probably need separate PBW accounts.</edit>

I didn't mark it. In all honesty I didn't know I had to. I though revealing them with one of my satellite sensors was enough. Oh, and BTW, I have to hand it to you, that double mine field was a damned nice trick.

The thing is, I didn't even know that the Romulan's torps have such a faster reload rate than everybody else's. I've always played as them, and I didn't even realize they have that bonus until my KFs started racking up kills. I've taken a much closer look at that various races since then, though. I've been thinking ahead to the rematch for quite awhile now.

I'll hang around, but don't expect the Romulans to be as compliant subjugates as the Dominion. :P

As to how many KFs I gave Dalton, well that's a secret. Maybe I didn't give him any and said that just to make you hesistate to attack, or maybe I've been giving him a couple every turn I was cranking them out to relieve some of the maintaince costs.

I don't know much about the Tholians, but I'd be willing to give playing them a try.

We used double minefields in Norpin to wipe out your 17 KF's.

I don't feel bad about what I did at all, or anything I did. I told everybody about everything, put my cards all on the table, laid out my strategy from the beginning, even the double minefields.

Although I made a lot of mistakes too that I shouldn't have, mostly expanding too much... I colonized a lot of 1 facility planets and built spaceyards on them. Although they're coming in handy now, early on about 30 turns in I had a really small fleet.

If the game really is over... I've got some really big hints, but I guess I'll save it until Kirk has a hole in his chest. No point poping the champange yet.

I've also figured out the bad guy's ending, if the bad guys win.

<edit>As for the next game... assuming everybody's still in for one, I hope it can get started after this one finishes. I'm suggesting a co-op game, with everybody on one side or another, and a player playing the Borg Monsters. That isn't saying there won't be wars between the Romulans and the Dominion, but people will have to band together to survive out of necessity. The Monsters will have certain secret goals, and rules to let people build up. For everybody else everything goes. I'm suggesting the following,
  • Making everybody start out with maximum warp ships. The beginning was kind of slow because everybody was running around at warp 1.
  • All other technology back to the beginning... hey Archer was running around at warp six right? (or was it three)? It'd make the game fast and brutal, with photon torpedo I and phaser I being important. Maybe technology cost set to high. The warp drive is the only aggravating thing about a low-tech game and if we set technology cost to high there'd be a lot of smaller wars fought with frigates and destroyers, and capital ships would really be monsters.
  • Adding "only one per vehicle" for Small Armors on fighters (It was good Tux but to me it really seems stupid.
  • Huge galaxy, 10 planet start, with high warp ships and many players it'd be a breeze.

I wouldn't want you to feel bad about it. It was a game, and I had fun, despite losing. You're clearly a more experienced SEIV player than I, and I'm not about to hold that against you. If anything, I should thank you, I've learned a lot from this game, in addition to enjoying it.

I'd be up for a co-op game against the Monsters or Borg Monsters, though I would like to play another "free for all" Trek mod game eventually.

It'd be a free-for-all, just with Borg Monsters lol. It would suck to tell people you have to ally with this or do that. The only person who'd have rules would be whoever was playing the Borg Monsters so they don't curbstomp us on the tenth turn.

I'm looking forward to playing either the Cardassians or a Federation race.

I'm thinking of either taking the Romulans again or going with the Andorians, myself.

Zargat and his damned gloating. I wish we were winning, just so I could prove the big-eared freak wrong. Good RP, though, Brian.

By the way, what's a double-minefield? Is that using mines from 2 different empires in the same sector to get around the 100 mine limit? That would explain why my mini-fleet in the Talarian system swept 135 mines and still got damaged.

Not sure whether or not I'd be up for another game right away or not, but if I were, I might like to be the Dominion. Be a bad guy, for a change.

Bingo. Brian and Nephtys dropped a huge number of mines in Alpha Onias. I saw them, but my KFs chased Brian's fleet right right into the damned things.

Yeah it's a limit of 120 for each player in a sector, me and Neph have around 240. With the Dominion around we could have 360. Now I wish I didn't tell you lol, but it's a cheap trick anyway :D. I don't think it'll hurt now unless you have some incredible move coming up. I've got another 50 battlecruisers coming next turn, and every three turns I'll be making fifty more now that my converters are online and the genesis planets are kicking in.

If you're getting busy again I could take over admin, although there's not much admining doing. You've been great, the only reason why I'm asking is because at first you were going to be busy about a month in and it's been a month and a half. I'd rather not do it though it's a pain in the ass as you've found out yourself lol.

<edit>Btw Tux, thanks you were not so bad yourself. Though Zargat is gloating you guys have no idea how close you were to winning. I kept my ship count up to yours and Trogdors through most of the game, but until around turn 40 I only had around 15 warships. Any small fleet could have head straight for my homeworlds and annihilated me. It really was close to the wire--I was rushing ships to attack Trogdor's 35 KF's before Trogdor got his minesweeper and finished repairing. If I had been one turn late he'd probably be in my home systems now.

I'm trying to figure out who's Q I like better. I think I like Uraniun's Q the best. I wonder what Q's gonna say to Kirk lol.

Hey, I have SEIV: Gold and the Star Trek MOD (aka AST MOD -- it's all I play -- although I do have Rebel and Imperial shipsets as well as about 40 other sets my brother put together if anyone is interested :-D) and I would love to play against people online. I've never done it before, but if you need a player, I'm definately down for the next multiplayer game.

As far as race is concerned, I'm down with anyone except the Ferengis.

Although I've only read the first page of posts, if you guys discussed this for 33 pages worth, the game must of been fun!

Looking forward to playing!

Thanks.

Hey what's wrong with Ferengi!

We're using http://seiv.pbw.cc for the games. The more the merrier. Although the site seems to work best in IE, when I'm in firefox I don't get confirmation clicks and sometimes the site doesn't load.

Well, a good chunk of it was me (Romulans) and Dalton (Klingons) flaming each and promising to conquer the other for the hell of it, which I thought was fun. :D

Anyway, as Brian said, the more the merrier. We'll need all the help we can get if we're doing a co-op game against the Monsters or Monster Borg. Just a friendly warning though: if this game has taught me anything it's that playing a PBW game against other people is very different than playing the AI in a one player game.

You have no idea. If you had waited exactly two turns, there would have been a fleet of 100 ships tearing through Dominion and Borg space, forcing surrenders or committing scorched earth.

Hell, I had a golden opportunity when the first Borg fleet was destroyed, but I couldn't take it because I didn't have a fleet. The mini-fleet that Neph destroyed in Talarian doesn't count, it was badly obsolete, intended only to deal with the neutrals. Its destruction actually did me a favor by freeing up maintenance. My first real fleet was in its first turn of construction. If I had planned better, I could have launched a counter-attack right then that would have stacked every empire except the Tholians against just you.

Oh well, I still have a chance, albeit a very remote one.

Our warp network is our strength as well as our weakness. The problem with scorched Earth, aside from Kirk not wanting to commit genocide lol, is every one of our planets has a small minefield over it as Uraniun found out this turn sending 6 to kill a planet in Norpin. You'd have to keep your fleet together, and I can get anywhere in my space or Borg space in a single turn with our network. Of course that means you can do it too, but if you split up into a hundred small groups it would have been mine meat.
Hell, I had a golden opportunity when the first Borg fleet was destroyed, but I couldn't take it because I didn't have a fleet. Yeah, to be honest I had nothing. You know that fleet you sent to rescue your Invisible Eye Trogdor, that small fleet of 20 ships could probably have pushed all the way into my home systems or glassed two dozen planets.
Oh well, I still have a chance, albeit a very remote one.
A couple turns ago your resource score went up by nearly 200k. You must have dozens of planets all of a sudden building replicator facilities. If you're getting 200k resource score every four turns it's going to be tough to beat.

I doubt it. If you couldn't have destroyed it, I'm sure Nephty's fleet could've. That fleet was old; I was about to use it to try and conquer the Bynars, that's why it was on hand to come blazing to the rescue. I later opted to attack the Takarans with it, and while that fleet did it, it was almost totally destroyed by a bunch of satellites that the Takarans had parked on one of the warp points that I was trying to clear away.

We got insanely lucky this game. I mean, those 500 fighter stacks Tux has are monsters, and our attack probably would have been nipped easy if the wormhole didn't form over one of your homeworlds.

And yeah, those KFs were monsters. Honestly, we stole the win through that insanely lucky attack on your homeworlds, Trog. You guys outproduced and outresourced us, and we got lucky with a few tricks (the mines).

This was a hugely tense game though. It was exciting. Thanks 'yall! And sorry for munching on you so early, Gups.

(and damnit, Bryan. Why'd you have to blow up my battlecruisers early on? :P)

And those romulan torps were BRUTAL. I mean, our pre-optimized designs were simulated only to be able to win with a 10 to 1 superiority, since the key defense of this mod is that 'shield regen'.

Neph's fleet could probably have done it, but her ships were behind yours at the warp point in the north and your ships were right in the warp point to the east into Manark. Your ships could have gone all the way into my home systems and Neph would have had to give chase and been slower. Your ships were also very shield heavy at the time (16-20 shields on a battlecruiser wow lol), and nobody had quantum torpedoes. I had a small fleet of armor piercers so I could probably have stopped you right at the homeworlds but there was nothing to stop you from glassing planets in Manark other than mines.

<edit>I just checked, you're right Trog your Firehawks blow, any of Neph's older ships can kill them and any design I ever made can kill them lol. It's... well the game's not over so I'm going to keep my mouth shut lol.</edit>

When you had 110 KF's Trog... you could have attacked and ruled the galaxy. The mines were set up only after we figured out the KF's were so unstoppable. We considered not using the mines because they seemed cheap... but when we found out one of your ships could kill ten of ours it was gloves off lol. Plus we were outnumbered 4 to 3 with the Dominion with only a handful of planets and his homeworlds and Neph had just lost her fleet so things were very dire.
Nephtys wrote:(and damnit, Bryan. Why'd you have to blow up my battlecruisers early on? :P)
Hey, I paid you back for them didn't I lol. And then some :D.

Sounds great. What's wrong with the Ferengi? Nothing, I suppose, I just -- for whatever reason don't particularly care for them -- it could be their whole midget/gremlin demeanor and there lack of resolve for a good battle. To be truthful, I'm abit of a Star Trek newb, I started off watching TNG over the summer. And now catch DS9 epsiodes off of Spike in the afternoons.

As to your comment Trogdor, I may very well get blown out of the water my first game but it's all good -- I'm just enthralled at the possibility of playing with human players. My brother and I were considering setting up a PBeM game but that fell through, and this sounds much easier!

I'm registered on http://seiv.pbw.cc, and eagerly await for you guys to wrap up your current game.

Go Tuxedo, winning after being on the verge of losing is always the best!
