Atheist, with a passing academic interest in the Kemetic (ancient Egyptian) religion.

Fundie Christian for most of the time I was growing up. Apathetic Christian once I went to college. Deconverted to atheism right about a year ago, or, rather, realized that I had; it was a long, slow process.

Started an apathetic catholic, turned athiest shortly after finding this board and Mike's 'creationism v evolution' page, then tried out deism, and have now settled comfertably as an Agnostic.

I was agnostic until I read Darth Wong's creation/evolution site, now I'm atheist.

Atheist. I believe Seneca the Younger said it best, "Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful." (Seneca the Younger, 5 BC - 65 AD)

Jehovah Witness as a child. Agnostic as a teenager, and finally atheist as an adult.

Thank god, I made it to atheism.

Godless heretic. Although blasphemer might better describe me since heretic was a term the Catholic Church reserved for other "heathen" Christian sects which they attempted to wipe out (with success for a lot of them).

I suppose in morality wise, I am closer to secular humanist.

Atheist raised agnostic, with some of my extended family being religious (e.g. the Bishop of Edinburgh is my half cousin or something like that and my grandparents were too). My sister (for some reason only known to her self) is also a christen (Protestant) and she really goes to church :!: .

Former practicing Mormon, fully indoctrinated for 11 years. A brief fling with paganism and other new age ideas...now I'll just settle for utterly confused. I'd like to embrace atheism, but I just cant, possibly due to remnant religious programming, yet I cant fully comprehend the concept of sky pixies and sticking rigidly to what some dude wrote down thousands of years ago. So no idea... kind of unsettling really.

Just curious, I was a fundi Christian myself for a long time, . . . . . until I came across information such as you'd find here. It caused me to think upon certain aspects that I had not considered before, which in effect caused me to drop the fundi and go with the "pseudo".

My question is, who do you look upon the evidences given and still retain the fundi-ness? I'm curious. If you'd rather discuss it in PM, then that's fine. :)

Here I'd be considered a Christian fundie.

In the rest of the world, I'm a very moderate Christian fundie.

Yes, I fully agree. Religion has been an obstacle for human development (and as served as a barrier between peoples and cultures).
