What if KOTOR was the original SW triology ?

Funny; I guess KOTOR II overrides that, because in KOTOR II Revan is claimed to be dark. Or maybe he can be set to "light" via dialogue, but I missed that point.

Just like you can make him go Dark or Light in KoTOR 1...funny that.

But as it stands, Revan turned to light because the offical site wanted that as the sotry regardless of random player choices.

you can make Revan light or Dark depening on conversation choices (remember that Darth Traya (the Sith Lord of betrail) is not a good source).

That's why I hate the official site. They suck. They really do. Because they could have chosen a more random "Revan emerged once more and killed his disciple. Records are sparse, and no one heard of him or the StarForge afterwards".

Frankly, making all "lightside" storylines the "right" ones by default they just kill off interest. That's how they killed off my interest in the Jedi Knight series... it was great to be able to choose between light and dark. But they took it away. In Jedi Academy they tried to reintroduce "the choice", but the "bad guy" path was so pathetic, you couldn't even kill Luke or Katarn and you were sentenced to watching NOTATIONS to you, a DARKSIDER from the screen.

Is that some kiddie-do-good stuff?

I just hate this "lightside by default" shit.

When you rescue Atton on Peragus and he fills you in you can choose what Revan is set as.

The Exile's nature came into play against Nihilus, but Sion? Hardly. That was a straight-up lightsabre duel followed with dialogue that talked him into giving up his twisted existance. There's nothing about that battle that Revan or any other Jedi Knight of adequate skill and power couldn't have dealt with.

Agreed.
Jedi Academy was particularly pathetic. See, if they're going to treat the Dark Side paths as non-official, non-canon "what if" scenarios, they might as well go all the way. Over the top.

In Jedi Knight II, for example, Kyle gains comprehension of the true nature of the Force, and obtains the power to extinguish lives with a thought, destroy stars at a whim, and crowns himself the new Emperor of the galaxy. Nice.
In Jedi Academy, Jaden just grabs the stupid staff, knocks out Kyle, and runs off with a single Imperator-class Star Destroyer. WTH?!

And then Luke and Kyle whine about how Jaden's a bitch, and you're obliged to watch. That's just outrageous.

Yes, the official site does suck. Hard. Nevertheless, I did like the light side ending of KOTOR, and it does make sense in the grand scheme of things more, the Star Forge being destroyed and all.

However, I will agree that Jedi Academy had a horrible story line, especially at the end. I don't even see why they gave you a choice in your path; it didn't have much to do with the rest of the game, and it just made both endings suck. :?
