He did have a lot of ability to influence it. It's the direct result of severing ties with the Shadows, murdering their ambassador, and attacking their planets.

I have consistently gone out of my way to avoid being a prick to player races, but even I have limits. :)
I was referring to you blowing up my colonies and me not having enough ships to stop you yet.

Out of curiostiy how is it that ISN sees the Vorlon attack and completely neglects the Shadow influence there the Vorlons went after?

Just for kicks, Earthforce well knew what we were going after.

Maybe because the Shadows are subtle and we didn't engage in wholesale murder.

No, I don't have a planet in Nocalo. I have no presence there at all.

That was all about the RP.

What the hell is with the "sabotaged reactors" anyway?

EDIT: Oh, wait, it's that "Samurai" class transport. I think.

To be fair Guppy you're well aware my razing of Solta Gan was accidental and more due to my lack of experience than any deliberate attempt by the vorlons at genocide.

As I said, Earth knew what we were going after. By all means capitalise on my lack of experience but be fair about it. Report the vorlons overzealousness rather than imply they simply wanted to annihilate the Grome.

Oh, you intended to raze it. You just thought the game would have replaced all the Grome with Shadows, leaving your hands clean.

Reporters aren't omniscient. They're not likely to be familiar with the backalley dealings that led to Shadow sympathisers rising to power on that planet - nor will they likely care, once Lightning Cannons start destroying cities from orbit.

It's not like this behaviour is out of character for the Vorlons. They were quite willing to destroy entire planetary populations in the series.

I look forward to the next turn. I gave the planet away as soon as I saw your fleet, I wonder if it'll be accepted before they're all dead.

True enough I didn't think through the attack so well. This is what comes of being rushed (I was last to submit).

I guess it's fair to say that yeah, when it comes to Shadows we're xenocidal but we certainly didn't intend to kill Grome.

And there's a fair difference between backalley dealings and 100 defense satellites deployed by a massive transport. More accurately the overthrowing of a rightful government *might* have gotten some public attention. Reporters notice that kind of thing.

The error lies also in that we're uncertain what time period we're in. If everyone knows who the Shadows are then there's no way you could take a planet and no one care.

Those were actually satellites of Grome design and manufacture. The planet came with them. Shadow sattelites look like Narn ones. :(

Executed the turn manually. Let me know if anyone's turn got the AI treatment, and we can roll back.

Both the Shadows and Vorlons have been blowing up my shit left and right with no explanation or apology since the game started. That's the main reason why I identified certain chokepoint systems and stacked assloads of satellites on their warp points, to keep the pesky Elder Races out.

They've been there the entire game and have done nothing.

I'm pulling them out, while you are sending ships right past them and assuming no harm will come to you?

This goes for all of you:

Your actions have consequences. If you insist on painting the Shadows as the villains in your one-dimensional play, they will see that they may as well act the part. Might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb.

Where the hell did this Army of the Light nonsense come from, anyway?

Has everyone forgotten that at the end of the Great War, the younger races were united against the Vorlons? It was the Vorlons that had been using their Planet-Killer to sterilise entire worlds to get at a few Shadows, just as they nearly wiped out the Grome in this game.

The only Army should be the Army of Get The Hell Out Of Our Galaxy. ;)

That was somewhat of an abberation in Vorlon behaviour. In recorded history the Vorlons went bad once. The Shadows on the other hand have an ancient and long traditon of behavioure the younger races consider abhorrent. That's like saying Earth can never be trusted again because of Clark, or the Minbari because they went on one xenocidal crusade. Or the Centauri because they used mass drivers on Narn in a war the Narn started. Most races have made their mistakes. The difference inthe Ancients is that when the Vorlons did it, they did it better and when the Shadows do it, they're convinced they're doing right.

Lesse. So far, I'm happy in my corner of space with friendly relations with the Vorlons. No reason to be mad at Earth to the south, hmm? So then it's power projection time.

Narn and Centauri are pretty scared probably of the possibility of Shadow attack, especially with how often they do favors. Minbari are concerned about multiple neutral race captures. Vorlons are the same for that.

Personally? I'm just RPing taking care of my own interests, and stopping someone from becoming a hegemon. The Minbari like the Status Quo, and are wary of oh... battleship buildups. (wink to someone).

Hey, I'm just playing the role here. I'm not even sure what timeline everyone is from.

You and I just don't seem to see eye to eye. Last game we disagreed about that colony in the Antede system, this time it's your ships being in my territory. Eh, C'est la vie.

Anyway, I replaced the turn with turn 52. Hopefully the problem won't come up again.

Sorry guys but the AI cancelled a whole mess of my ships. You can always resubmit the last turn assuming you keep a backup of it.

Anyway, done now.

Nothing so sinister, it's probably more situational than anything.

In the ST game, I was RPing that the people in that colony ship actually cared that their civilisation had been reduced to five planets, and with Borg rushing in to seemingly wipe out their crippled race, had fled in hopes of finding a safe refuge.

I was genuine about them being refugees, since as far as I was concerned (and established in my RP) the Founder believed they had suffered a great cataclysm and their end was nigh.

I can see how that threw you off, though. You couldn't have known they were genuine, and not a staging point. But I was a little busy with the Borg at the time.

In this game, I was just passing through your space. I tried to open discussions with the Brakiri and they always told me they weren't interested and to stay out of their territory, (even going so far as to turn down my offer of aid against the Vorlons, who at the time were moving in force against them) and after a few rounds of that I figured I wasn't getting anywhere.
