Mulder and Sculley find an alien...

Here's the scenario: Mulder and Sculley are investigating some murders in Baltimore and DC. They all fit the same MO... victims mainly killed with edged weapons, in some cases skinned and in others decapitated as well with the spines removed. Mulder thinks the government is hiding something, while Sculley thinks it's a serial killer. The killer of course is a Predator, hunting in the Maryland-DC area. Assume also that someone new from the Department of Defense has taken over the late unlamented agent Keyes' job of trying to catch one. The question is this: how many think that Mulder and Sculley will survive this investigation?

being armed is enough, unfortunately for them... I thought of this while I was making my tea this morning as the start of a stort: I figure it'll be one of the few times that they're lucky to run into the unmarked helicopter crowd trying to cover up the existance of aliens.

They go alone.. as usual into a victims house... the predator kills Maulder with the staff thing and then dispatches Scully with the shoulder cannon. They are seriously out of their league.

Necron, that's the problem with the story: when I first thought of it I thought it would be a fun crossover, but keeping those two alive for the whole thing just boggles the mind... best I could think of was some contrived way for Mulder to lose his gun while investigating a crime scene the Predator was lurking at.

No, because CSM already knows about their existance and would have sent Krychek out to deal with the Pread. The Pread being far out of the Leugue for Rat Boy would have one problem. You can't kill Rat Boy.
