That is pretty awesome. Now: how much would such a set cost, and how much time would it take to build it?

No. My LEGO-fu skills are 2 on a scale of 1-10, and this clearly goes to 11.

What gets me is the scale of the thing. Look at the floor tiles. You've got to figure those are at least six to eight inches, so that's an immense lego project. It's obviously a kit, but aside from the mad cred the guy must have put down buying it, it must have taken a good amount of time to assemble. That thing is swanky.

That is simply incredible. Now all we need is another one, and we can have a massive Lego air battle.

If LEGO were to sell such a massive set, I could easily see it costing at least two thousand dollars.

Christ. This is on the order of that six to eight foot long Venator LEGO model.

LEGO is truly the most awesome thing to ever be invented. Even the Transformers.

I make the minifig in http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1651099 to be about 40 pixels tall. The island's roof is approximately 800 pixels off the ground. A minifig is about 4cm tall, so that makes the island 80cm tall.

He doesn't have any shots of a completed carrier, but I'd guesstimate at least 3 meters long. I'm pretty sure that's bigger than the Venator, and it probably uses more pieces, too.

I think Kit refers to the fact someone brought it with all the parts included, with instructions. :?

Gigantic projects like this are never a 'kit'. The largest kits Lego has ever released are the Star Destroyer and Death Star II. Everything larger is custom-built either by Lego Master Builders, insane fans, or people with lots of money to hire such a fan.

That's what I assumed: that it was a custom project like most of these kind of thngs are.

Nice. I think a second cousin of mine built a battleship that was of the same scale; I wish I could have seen that.

Using this calculator Lego scale convertor 900 lego studs equals 1028 minifig feet, and almost 24 human feet. Rough eyeball measurement of the ship is about six feet with the bow.
