Luke 20:25. That one verse torpedoes the whole "God in government" nonsense.

If only the biblethumpers would actually read the damn book...

It's Phelps heavy. I think these people are even further removed from sanity than Phelps. They don't seem too well organized, though.
Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things... their number is negligible and they are stupid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

Bars serve alcohol, which intoxicates one and blinds him from the LORD. Psychiatry is immoral because it probes the sole of man, something that only the church and GOD should do. Unions worsphip the rights of workers over that of GOD. Social Security and Welfare are ungodly because they are ideas of the evil godless liberal. [/right-wing christain bullshit]

Seriously isn't there anyway to get these people locked a way in a nice cozy room with white walls and people in white to looked after them?

This could be a good thing. If they start a third party group devoted to putting god into the constitution, then it might appeal to enough fundies to detract from the pro-government "family values" shit that the republican party tries to appeal to. The green party detracted from the liberal vote in 2000. If the crackpot psychopathic fundies have a party to attach to, and most people are alienated enough by the concept of changing the constitution to match religious beliefs that they shun the concept of pro-religion governmen, then this would really just decrease the power of the religious right.

I honestly think this insane bullshit could be a good thing.

I think the niche is already taken by the Constitution Party. They're slightly less insane than these Christocracy guys, but still batshit loco enough to be funny. From the front page:

"George Washington feared two threats to America above all others, the corrupting influence of political parties with their selfish spirit of faction..."

Check, I believe. So the next one, logically would be entangling foreign alliances?

"...and the weakening of the influence of religious morality on public life."

Right.

I'm guessing it means "worshipping a creation of man instead of worshipping (our) God."

Which, in their minds, means stuff like respecting such trivialities like freedom of speech/press/religion/assembly, due process, and protection from cruel and unusual punishment (in this case stoning). I wouldn't be surprised if their definition of Constitutional idolatry also included demanding rights for minorities.

I LOVE their "Time Line"
1. God/government separation is recognized as evil
2. Churches support candidates in Christ
3. Our constitution is amended to say "Jesus is Lord"
4. Laws, and history rewritten in light of the gospel
5. All Antichrist alliances rescinded
6. Other nations amend their constitutions to say "Jesus is Lord"
7. Israel amends its constitution to say "Jesus is Lord"
8. Demons flee into the one doomed to destruction
9. Temple is built by Christians on Mount Mariah
10. Jerusalem becomes the Spiritual, economic, and political center of the world
11. Nations beat their swords into plowshares and disband their armies
12. Man of lawlessness rises to power, and forms a military power
13. Other nations fall away including Israel
14. Jerusalem, Mystery Babylon, is plundered
15. Jesus returns to gather the faithful, and destroy the wicked
16. Jesus rules 1,000 years until Satan is released, and temps the nations
17. Satan’s ultimate destruction
Nice, um, plan they got going there... really optimistic... Love all the dates and years on that "timeline" yup...

It's the old "we're working against his plan by helping poor/ill/needy people to actually better themself" bullshit. If the Lord afflicts a man with mental illness you're not meant to cure it. The patient is getting punished for a reason. Same with poor people. It's perfectly fine to give a beggar a coin, but giving him a job is against the divine plan!

That's what I had figured was behind Hubbard's, and hence Scientology's, beef with psychiatry. Not sure if there's any truth to it, but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

You know, normally I'm not the type to be into math jokes, but as soon as I read this line, the image of a guy traversing a sine wave, climbing over each crest and then falling into the subsequent trough popped into my head, and I found it hilarious.

Wait...so unless the Constitution is amended to be explicitly Christian, the Antichrist and Satan can't do shit? Sweet!

I never got the YEC timeline. Why does God waver back and forth between saving people and tempting them? It's like he barely beats Satan in an arm wrestling contest that decides the fate of our souls.
