I had an idea similar to re-filming. You would keep the actors and sequences the same, but you would take everything else (like battle scenes. long shots, and scenery) and re-make them with modern technology. Not just clean it up, but completely modernize it. Imagine the Battle of Endor with the same tech as Episode III. You like?

I think that would clash horribly. Especially the parts where the actors are part of the battle scenes.
Please forgive any idiotic comments, stupid observations, or dumb questions in above post, for I am but a college student with little real world experience.

Even still. A shot of Han in the cockpit of the Falcon from OT, and then a shot of the re-vamped Falcon blasting around in space. Doesn't fit in my mind's eye.

Agreed, most of the OT SFX's are still quite awesom and doesn't need to be fucked with. Sure, some of ANH got revamped in the SE and it's not so bad, but there is nothing wrong with ESB and RotJ space battles.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I was going to say I'd convert my VHS copies of the original SW to mpegs but then realised even my VHS collection is Special Edition.. I'm not sure I've still got my originals that I taped off TV years ago.. OMFG I might not have the originals! :(

I'm off to look for some razor blades...
Never fear, many folks have already done the work for you and converted the laserdiscs to dvd... ;)

oh? Well my next question is obvious :D
