Re: True.
If you make no sense, ignore others, and bring up long-refuted points, of course you'll be ridiculed here! And the only reason you're being insulted now is because you've started tihs thread, which all your posts here can be summarized as so: "You're all meanies! I'm telling!".

Re: Exactly.
'It's' is one of those oddball exceptions that make the English language what it is. 'It's' is a short form for 'it is.' The possessive of 'it' is 'its.' Or so I recall.Captain tycho wrote: It's isn't a possesive?
Weird.
We now return to your regularly scheduled flamewar.

I suppose I nitpicked over his username. I just assumed, from his first post here, that he was a/pretending to be an engineer (and that touched a nerve of mine, of course). He has the right to choose his username, Specially if Engineer_00 is the name of some obscure fictional character.
That being said, you're still a troll.

Re: Exactly.
But you ACT like a 12 year-old. You are being judged by your whiny and self-contradictory behavior. Further, you just employed the "appeal to authority" fallacy. Once you make reasonable points, you will be treated like a reasonable board member. BTW, you don't see anything wrong with insulting people here, but you DO find it offensive when people flame points that are stupid?Engineer_00 wrote:See, this is precisely what I mean. "fuck you, bitch", and "bullshit". All you want to do is flame people out of their arguments, not debate. You people are pretty distasteful and disgraceful. I've wasted my time on this board. Grow up, deal with arguments rationally and maturely.
P.S. I did not once mention I was actually an Engineer. And I'm not a 12 year-old.

Re: True.
If you read the board, you would have realized that almost everyone here gets flamed, once in a while, by almost everyone else. It has little to do with your post count. Moreover, most newbies come here and make reasonable points. Only when they fail to do so are they attacked. In regards to your question of why everyone is so quick to lose their patience around here, the answer is that we've been over almost every ludicrous Trekkie argument there is. There are still good Trekkie arguments that would be reasonable, but when someone comes in here and states something that we've already seen fifty times from other people (in various forms), we tend to ignore them because they've already been dealt with. In addition, many posters here (including me) simply do not like stupidity. If and when someone makes a stupid point, they are flamed for it. It happens to everyone, once in a while, but for the msot part the veterans here are smart enough and practiced enough debaters that no one openly mocks them. Besides, we already know them to be intelligent, and so we are willing to forgive them when they make a bad post here and there. With newbies, they don't have that kind of capital built up, and so if and when they make two or three really dumb posts, they get flamed for it more virulently than the veterans, if the phenomena even occurs.Engineer_00 wrote:Hahahaha!!! *Rolls around on the floor, being the apparent "piece of shit" that he is* Heheh, *Wipes a tear from his eye* Oh, goodness. Thank you. That was good for a laugh. I'll now stop with the frantic insults. I was being quite arrogant with everyone. I apologise. I'm just wondering why is every so quick to lose their patience here? I mean, is anyone at SD.net actually capable of being civilised when someone who's new, or sort of simple? Or is it commonplace to flame people into the another universe?

I admit I got biased after seeing his first post/username (because of my background), and after reading the last post, that was in a way contrary to the first one (but coherent, if he was just trolling). It's possible I was wrong. But I do not apologize the flames, because I'm not the arrogant, ignorant idiot he called me first.Cyril wrote:Olrik, STFU. I'll just wait for his further posting.

"Its" is a possesive as in "the Death Star powered up its turbolaser turrets".Captain tycho wrote:It's isn't a possesive?
Weird.
"It's" is a contraction for "It is"
