God I like the look of both planes. Any idea of the dimensions of that. I must say Paint = lots of time wasting fun.

Doesn't look like it belongs on BSG.

Thread Hijack to here.

I envision the first canards and main wing to have a ten degree anhedral, and the second canards to have a ten or fifteen degree dihedral. Fuselage sides are around 45°.

Einy I think you remove the "nose" wing pair and the nose cone to make it more Viper:ish.

The 'nose cone' is actually just a pointed extension of the top surface of the usual Viper-type nose.

Would this thing even be able to come out of the launch tubes? It looks very much larger than any of the other vipers.

Other than that, great design. :D

More a fighter bomber that launches from the deck itself instead of the tubes perhaps.

It could bay launch, like Raptor's do. Of course, that means that class of fighter won't be able to be launched en masse like Viper's.

Precisely, Zed and Neo. It can take out Raiders, but it can also be a capship killer and ground-attack ship depending on loadout.

Since its going to be an all-purpose job then, would it be plausable to put a gunner near the back of the ship? Since it probably won't be as nimble as a mk. 7, the extra punch of a rear gunner would help.

...actually, I wasn't looking hard enough, I don't think theres enough room on the chasis.

Its part of being aerodynamic.

Isn't that right Ein.

I'm feeling aerodynamic right now, actually.

It's a rocket thing. As is right in proper, any vehicle by the very laws of physics, that flies through the air on a jet of superhot gas must be shaped like a penis in some way, to demonstrate its power.

Look at the Saturn V, the mightiest man made vehicle in existance.

I took some liberties.

I put an intake under the nose. The lil dots are the RCS thruster exhausts. Put in some signage and registry number. However, I'm not sure about the thing above the top engine. So, that's just a quick dump. Plus I probably got the cockpit size and positioning wrong, after I looked at the top view again.

Can i sig that?
Zor wrote:I would like to see you squeese of those out a launch tube.
Perhaps the wings can fold up or even swing in a bit to make it more compact during launch, then flip down on leaving the tube? A variable geometry aircraft would fit in with the BSG WWII-ish carrier battles, for basically the same reason of compactness that they were used in real life.
