leader swap

Post by lance »

The all mighty Q has decided to play god and swap the leaders of the repective sides so that the ST gets thrawn as the leader of the Federation, pelleon as the leader of the klingons, isard for the borg, vader for the dominion, kirk for the romulans, cardassians get some other imperial. the SW side get janeway and daala.

This is what I think might happen, Daala or Janeway do somthing that ends with a SSD being scrapped(Fly it into a planet at 100,000c maybe?), thrawn repairs it, degree of repair doesn't matter, thrawn uses his new ship to single handedly to capture some small fleets that were sent by janeway to studying somthing. *Smacks head* The ST people have what ever they had at last count plus some building for the people who haven't been seen for a few years. The SW is the imperial remant right after there peace treaty with the NR.

Hmm...

Kirk leading the Romulans, Vader leading the Dominion, Pellaeon leading the Klingons and Thrawn leading the UFP in an alliance against the Imperial Remnant led by Daala and Janeway.

One side has extreme firepower, mobility, and fleet size advantages but brainless and incompetent (at least with Janeway) leadership who would squander them.

On the AQ side you have arguably the greatest Naval strategists in both galaxies leading an alliance rather weaker than their enemy in terms of both fleet size and strength of each individual ship.

But could the IR bring their entire fleet to bear?
Doubtful, as they have to maintain fleets in their home space to secure their rule and defend against NR incursions.

Even if the fleet sizes even out or go to the AQ's advantage, the IR's ships are still much more powerful than any number of AQ ships.

It would be an interesting battle, to say the least.

Even superior numbers and strategists cannot beat superior firepower and technology in the end. Even if you have a brilliant leader like Thrawn commanding the Federation (or any other AQ goverment) he could hold out for awhile, but not forever. The Imperials made peace with the NR, so they no longer have to guard their borders, unless this takes place in the NJO. Anyway, 200 ISDs and about 1,000 smaller cap ships would be more than enough to take on the AQ, considering that a single ISD could most likely take on fleets of AQ ships.
So, the AQ is royally screwed.

They could in some cases.
But I agree, not this one.
The technology gap is simply too large

How about this the IR has 10 corvettes because janeway had the rest of the fleet explore the inside of a black hole. Now can the other side stand a chance. If thats not enough how bout 10 escape pods?

No ammount of incompetence vs strategic genius could make up for Wars technological advantanges in battle. It takes just one itchy triggerfinger on a gunner and BAM! bye-bye flagship.

ISD's can take DAYS worth of assualt from a single trek ship, and no real imperial leutentant would let such and incompetant and trusting comanding officer stay in command for long.

Thrawn, being the brilliant strategist he is, would quickly defect to the SW side  The best he could hope for would be to use cloaked ships for hit and run raids, Species 9472 for battle (Since they're the only ones that stand a chance), and the Borg as cannon fodder.

Thrawn would probably win somehow.

He's taken on massive odds before.

He would do things that the stupid Feds would never do. It's an oft-stated fact on this board that the federation do not use to best advantage (or anything liek best advantage) the technology available to them.

For example, they could possibly replicate vast quantities of enriched uranium and create multi stage nukes, each one way up in the teraton range... Then use transporters to beam them directly onto enemy shields, and explode there. Or create a class of heavy, fast, drone ships for the express purpose of ramming assaults.

Thrawn would think of these things.
200 GT TLs.

6 MT Point defence guns.

1 KT Starfighter cannon (Near-Hiroshima-level damage!)

STAR WARS STRIKES BACK!!!
