Yeah, pretty much.

Barring direct Divine intervention with every single child born both to prevent inbreeding and cause the differences in phenotype, and assuming that no wars or disease have ever actually taken place...ever..., you really can't do it.

4800 years, from one family, just isn't enough time. And that's even if God is genetically engineering the offspring so they don't start being born with gills at around the sixth generation.
