Well I personally think people don't like it because the clonetrooper comes across as just this cold and efficient being - hence the "Its time for you to leave" rather than the trooper saying something like "Get out or I'll grag you!" . Motherfucker implies emotion - hatred, anger and so it breaks the effect IMHO.

I think "Motherfucker" is a difficult word to effectively deploy.

"It's time for you to leave, motherfucker" could only really be delivered properly by Samuel L. Jackson. From anyone else, it just sounds wrong, and it makes the image lose it's punch.

It would be better to find something that you could imagine a Clone Trooper saying, whilst still conveying the utter lack of worth of the bannee.

Clonetroopers are, as far as I know, conditioned to kill, which seem pretty badass to me, so I say: keep it. What type of soldier doesn't even cuss anyway?

I'm in the pro-motherfucker camp myself (damn, that was weird to type). The image doesn't work without it.

However, on the nuts and bolts of the text itself, if you haven't flattened it already, you might consider turning the gradient effect on "motherfucker" to a shallower angle so more of the shadow effect it makes is on the text. Just a touch, but I think it would help sink the text into the image. Also, I'd tone down the stony quality of the text, I think. The gray asphalt kind of stoniness seems a little out of place with the Sam Jacksontrooper.

All of that is just stuff I'd try to integrate that bit of text with the image more. It's perfectly fine as it is, given that anyone who it will be served to will be more concerned with why it was served than than graphic design.

Yet another who laughed when he scrolled to the bottom of the picture.

Advantages to keeping the cuss: it customizes the scene and makes it personal - it's no longer a clonetrooper issuing a veiled threat to a senator, it's Mr. Wong giving an idiot the boot;

-there is comedic value to the juxtasposition between the cool, professional trooper and the flaming curse;

-it provides an escalatory option, if you will; "Terminate him!" is aggressive, but some cases may deserve something that is both aggressive and nasty.

Just my $0.02.

Well, one good point I've heard about the use of the word "Motherfucker" is that it makes people think of Samuel Jackson (damn, that guy somehow took possession of an English word) who happens to play a character in Star Wars. So what do people think of a slightly modified version?

'Asshole' is much better. 'Motherfucker' implies a worthy adversary, while 'asshole' implies someone who's useless beyond being the target!

"Asshole" seems to fit better. For some reason "Motherfucker" seemed too out of place, but that doesn't have the same problem.

Still prefer Galvatron, though.
